Pros:
Perhaps we will be able to use it when DD is older as we like having her at the table at our height.
Cons:
DD could stand up in it by 12mo and at 15 mo refused the harness (a malfunctioning plastic gadget).

I had to write this review when I saw that Toddler Bargains recommended the Tripp Trapp. I think the A rating should stand for Absolutely Not Necessary. We live in Europe and friends recommended this chair as a great buy because it grows with your child, your child sits with you at the table at your height and can participate in mealtime, it´s sturdy design and great color choices. And true, for our friends´child, the chair worked/is working great...he is a very calm child who doesn´t move much during mealtime or otherwise. However, my DD is VERY active and is constantly exploring how to escape, climb, jump, etc. (I keep telling myself that surely there are other toddlers out there just like her.) So, the Tripp Trapp worked from 6mo to 12mo with the baby rail installed. During that time the cushion and back pillow, that we paid for separately, were ruined. They didn´t hold up in the washing and waiting for them to air-day was a PITA. We weren´t about to pay for new ones, so we trashed them. In addition, cleaning the chair and baby rail was time consuming. Around 12mo, I noticed that my DD could push up off the bottom shelf with her feet and get her legs under her on the actual seat. From there, it was only a matter of time before she was standing in the chair. We tried lowering the foot shelf (then you lose the benefit of the ergonomic design) so her feet dangled, lowering the seat, raising the seat, moving her away from the table (so she could not use the table as a spring board), all to no avail. BTW, each time you adjust the chair is requires a special tool-like wrench (that comes with the chair free of charge...gasp!). You have to untighen all the screws, remove and replace the rail, foot shelf and seat, replace them at the level where you think they might need to be, re-tighten, and re-tighten again to make sure the chair is level (we never got it on the first try). Finally, I removed the baby rail and bought the harness for the chair that I had recently seen advertised..for another 30 euros. At 15mos, my DD was having nothing to do with a harness. I was committed to using the harness and watching her cues closely to get her out of the chair as soon as she was finished with mealtime. I was working with the chair and following every parenting book´s mealtime advice. It would have been much easier to do this if the harness wasn´t so difficult to unlock (neither myslef, husband or MIL could unlock it on first try). I guess the upshot of that is my DD never would be able to open the harness. However, she probably could get so upset waiting for me to try to un-harness her, that she could throw the chair backwards. I didn´t want to know if that was possible. And mealtime was becoming a battle. So my Tripp Trapp is in storage until my DD can sit steady in a chair. I really hope at that point we can get our money´s worth. We currently use the Fisher Price Healthy Choice Booster. I paid less for it than I did for the harness for the Tripp Trapp. It is working fine and cleaning it is a breeze! I do not recommend the Tripp Trapp chair unless you are solely concerned with burning money on/having the latest Euro design.

Pros:
Usable until adulthood, child at same level as parents.
Cons:
High price, some assembly required.

We bought this high chair because we liked the idea of our child sitting at the same level as us at the dining table and because we had already bought the Xplory stroller and loved it. In fact, we were able to get the same colour for our Tripp Trapp as our stroller, turquoise. We bought a multicolored cushion set and the baby rail, too. Our 6-month-old daughter loves sitting in the chair and will play with her toys at the dining table while she waits for us to get her food ready. The height is perfect for us to sit in our dining chairs and feed her or watch her play at eye level. On the down side, it is slightly expensive, but not much moreso than many other high chairs on the market. Some assembly is required, but it saves on shipping and packaging since it comes in such a flat and small box. It can apparently support a weight of up to 300 lbs! Hopefully, our daughter will never need to test it for that weight!
