Pros: high chair features but still a booster
Cons: still a booster

I love this! I had been using the regular fisher price booster for my six month old (which is the best of the boosters), but was nervous that it wasn't secure enough. This has a five point harness and a larger divider between the legs. It reclines easily for infant feeding and is padded. The tray is at the right height, and releases nicely but cannot be kicked off. I wanted a booster to save space, and this is a winner. The smaller fisher price is great for travel, and this is perfect for the home.

The one drawback I have noticed is when other people fed my daughter they leaned on the tray and it does tip a bit. Not enough to be a risk, but enough to make me nervous. On the plus side, I do like the thicker straps that connect the booster to the seat.

Pros: A super space saver with all the perks of regular high chair
Cons: A little tippy - depending on the weight of your chair

We love that this seat has all the features of a regular high chair without the added hassle of the legs! It straps securely to our kitchen chair. Chair & tray even recline. And it looks like it will work well as a booster in the future. One of our best baby purchases!

Our kitchen chairs are fairly lightweight (IKEA), and I have concerns that my son might be able to rock the chair over eventually. But I think I have solved that by weighting the bottom of the chair.

Pros: Space saving, accomodates large babies, easy to set up/move
Cons: 1 handed tray release doesn't work, food gets under cushion

We bought this chair after getting favorable reviews from a couple of friends who owned the Space Saver. At the time, we lived in a 90 year-old, 900 sq. ft. house and really needed the space-saving feature. We began using the chair when my son started solids at 6 months, and so have been using it continuously for 8 months now.

javascript:emoticon( '') biggrin: The chair was very easy to assemble and to install on one of our dining room chairs, and it has fit well on every chair we've tried it on thus far (roughly half a dozen different chairs). It attachs to whatever chair it is on by a strap around the back of the chair and a strap underneath the chair, which are easily adjustable with a belt-type fastener. I was afraid at first that it might be a bit rickety with a big bouncing baby in it, but we have never had any stability problems. It seems fairly comfortable for our son, although the seat padding is minimal. We travel frequently and have been pleased with the way it fits into the back of our car even though it does not collapse/fold down in any way. The seat's recline feature and height adjuster have worked with no problems with adjustments being easy to make.

javascript:emoticon( '') glare: We do have a couple of minor gripes about the Space Saver. I am constantly finding food underneath the pad of the chair since the sides of the pads are loose from the seat. My son hasn't figured out how to stuff food there intentionally yet, but I'm sure that day is coming. That being said, it is easy to get under the pad for cleaning. We have also been a bit disappointed that the one-hand tray release has never worked on our chair. The mechanism under the tray that releases the side clasps seems incapable of staying put so that it can do it's job. The pad and straps do come apart from the chair fairly easily, but I have had a hard time getting stains and gunk off of them. That's probably a universal high chair problem, though.

Overall, I'd definitely recommend this chair to anyone, but especially to people who are "space-challenged" the way we were in our old house. This chair does convert to a booster seat for bigger kids, but we have not used it as such at this time.

Space Saver High Chair, April 16, 2007

Pros: Compact, good price, neutral color, easy to clean.
Cons: A bit rickety. Fabric trim. Tray doesn't fit my dishwasher.

I paid about $50 plus shipping from Wal-Mart. It has proved well-worth the money. The chair straps securely to our dining room chair and fits our slim child perfectly. This is a great option for people without a large home.

The plastic seems too rickety to withstand a lot of abuse, but our high chair is still in perfect condition after eight months of daily use. If you have a wild child that jumps, kicks, and pulls at furniture, you would probably want something more sturdy (ie thicker, heavier plastic).

The tray fits far back enough that food rarely falls between our child & the tray. The tray is also at a good height. There is a 5-point harness and adjustable recline settings. The back is removable so you could use the chair as a booster for an older child. The tray is dishwasher-safe, although it is too big to fit into our dishwasher.

The vinyl seat pad is a neutral beige (doesn't steal center stage during those cute messy-eater photos) and doesn't stain easily. However, there IS fabric trim around the edges of the seat, which COULD stain if you aren't vigilant about wiping down messes ASAP.

The instructions say to hand-wash the pad (not machine-wash), but I haven't found it necessary to launder the pad yet. There aren't a lot of deep nooks & crannies that collect food particles, so it doesn't get grungy like a lot of high chairs I've seen. We just wipe down the seat thoroughly after each use and it looks as good as new.
