All the features of the high-end chairs at 1/2 the price!, September 14, 2005

Pros: Durable, affordable, high-quality.
Cons: None.

I couldn't be more pleased with our high chair purchse ($80 at BRU, after an $8 off coupon). I took my daughter to BRU to test out several high chairs and the Baby Trend one blew the doors off the competition. It has every fantastic feature of the Peg Perego and Chicco chairs, except that it actually FITS a baby--all of the pricier Italian chairs had a tray that was too high and too far away from baby, unless you have a very wide and tall baby. The comfy cloth seat pad cleans easily, and does not have the "sticky factor" that several of the vinyl chairs had. The tray has a removeable, dishwasher-safe insert, and the tray itself adjusts and removes easily, so you can pull the chair alone up to a table, if desired (by using the smooth locking-caster wheels). It folds compactly, the seat reclines nicely, and can also be adjusted higher or lower to several settings. The other REALLY nice thing is that there was virtually no other assembly out of the box besides putting the tray on and popping the caster wheels on the bottom of the legs. After having wrestled with assembling a Graco Harmony chair for a vacation house, I'll be happy to never have to assemble such a cheap piece of overpriced plastic junk again! The fabric offerings for the Trend chair were nice and subdued--no garish jungle prints or vibrant primaries to have to blend in with our dining decor. Overall, there is no quality and value this chair offers is the absolute best!

Good for parent, bad for child, January 10, 2006

Pros: Good height and recline adjustability
Cons: Tray height is fixed & too high for child, straps too loose

We received this high-chair as a gift. I was pleased to find that it was highly rated by Baby Bargains, and quickly tried to put it to use. The recline proved useful early on for our young son, however, as he was able to sit by himself and reach onto the tray, I discovered that the tray was way too high for him to comfortably reach past the first few inches of the tray. In fact, it was above his armpits. At that point, I thought it was simply because he was too small. However, he's 13 months now, and it's still awkwardly high. Have you ever tried to eat from a table that's nearly at your chin?

Similarly, the straps could not be tightened to actually hold him in securely. They are loose enough (in their tightest position) for him to put his arm down, and then out of the straps.

We've since tried a Graco and Fisher Price chair, both of which fit much more nicely.

The pad is also a bear to clean. It can't be tumbled dried.

I would not recommend this chair.

Good high chair- very difficult to clean, October 17, 2005

Pros: Very comfortable, adjustable height, recline, snack tray
Cons: Ugh!! It's very difficult to clean!

I really like this high chair- it's very comfortable for baby, and the adjustable height and recline make it very versatile. It comes with a fabric seat cover. Now- I do not do laundry everyday, so I'm wondering how I'm supposed to keep the seat clean. I contacted customer service and they sold me a vinyl seat cover for a reasonable price. This one's better than the fabric one- but still difficult to clean. The food gets shoved deep in the corners of the chair. Also- to clean the food out of the footrest- you have to get a screwdriver and take the darn thing off! Not very convienient!! I am still using this chair- it's great except when it comes time to clean it.

Pros: height of seat adjusts, cushie seat cover
Cons: doesn't adjust for under table, fabric pills

Reversible seat cover but the side that is wipeable is ugly & cheap looking, so I don't use that side. Fabric pills with washing (delicate cycle & air dry). Overall height of high chair adjusts to your height which I like. Other reviewers complained that child had trouble reaching tray height. We had similar difficulties, but assumed that it was b/c dd was shorter and smaller for her age. We started with one big phone book placed under the cushion and then eventually used a thinner phone book and now at 15 months, we don't have a problem and she is about 29" tall. The description of the item implies that this can also be used as a booster seat type by removing the tray and sliding the high chair arms underneath the kitchen table so as to include dc in family dinners. This did not work for us, thus I felt the description was a little misleading. Tray comes with one removeable tray and others in this price range come with 3. I would have bought the FP Healthy Deluxe but could only find it on-line & then the shipping was outrageous.

too big for my baby, April 21, 2006

Pros: reclines, 5 pt harness
Cons: tray too high

I was seriously considering buying this highchair after reading the Baby Bargain book review but when I went to BRU to try it out in person I found it unusable. The tray is way too high for my baby and after talking to other moms, it is still too high for one 2 year old I know.
