I agree with the previous review that the Baby Bargains review of the Land of Nod was a bit harsh. The customer service was excellent. We bought the Straight-Up Crib in white and the Fresh Scallops 4 drawer dresser. The store had a 15% off sale and free delivery at the time we purchased the crib.. the crib retailed for $599 which we got for $509. We found this to be a little more costly then the cribs at BRU but then again, almost everything we looked at there was cheaply made. FYI...The Straight Up Crib is made in the USA.

In the Chicago land area there is a Land Of Nod outlet where we purchased the dresser (no damage, was returned) for $170 (retailed at store for $479.) After looking at many different stores and websites for a crib and dresser, we are very happy with our purchase and would highly recommend the Land of Nod.

Worth it if you like a safe crib with nice finish, June 6, 2007
Reviewer: anastasia k from Spring Lake, NJ

Pros: Pretty finish, safe and JPMA listed
Cons: On the higher side for a Jenny Lind crib but worth it

I tried posting something about this yesterday but it was deleted? Anyway, I think Land of Nod got an unfair assessment in the most recent edition of BB. I own the Jenny Lind crib in yellow, and love it. In fact, I bought the conversion kit, but now that my daughter is getting older and ready for a big girl bed I have to get her new furniture (I am probably going to go with the Land of Nod Jenny Lind bed, I really love vintage style!). I knew the crib was Million Dollar Baby manufactured when I bought it, in fact I called their customer service department up and they told me right away. No one was "hiding" the fact from me. They told me that Land of Nod imports the cribs from Million Dollar Baby unfinished, then hand paint and distress them here themselves. When I was looking around for a Jenny Lind style crib I saw some in a boutique in my town that were hand painted and distressed and they were $600! Million Dollar Baby does now offer colors, but their finishes are shiny and tacky and definitely don't look heirloom. I know Jenny Lind style cribs can be found for cheaper, but if you want a JPMA (safe) crib (not all styles are, I checked) with a great, hand-done finish then this is the crib for you. I paid $329 but I definitely think I got a bargain!
