I purchased the Enchantment Series about 7 months ago. I bought a double dresser, crib and night stand at Buy Buy Baby in Garden city. The staff talked very highly of the product. My order arrived in about 8 week and was delivered the next week. I read the BB and was concerned with the lead time so I called MHC directly and talked to Helen and she told me that I should place the order through one of three different retailers in my area. She said they are having problems with some retailers but would not specify and are holding shipments but good retailers are getting the product in about 8 weeks.. I like the quality of the furniture. They have four sided dove tailed drawer boxes and a very nice finish. My husband was alos impressed with the construction of the furniture. I am very concerned about putting products in my home becuase of the lead paint scares from China. I called Helen today again and asked about their products. She told me that all of their furniture is made in Canada with Canadian made paints and wood and I had nothing to worry about.. Overall, I am very happy with my purchase and have no complaints I would not hesitate to purchase MHC again and if you have any questions call Helen.

My husband and I spent a lot of time looking at cribs, searching for the perfect one. I had heard MHC was a good company and we liked the cribs we saw at Buy Buy Baby. Since we had a 20% coupon from the store, we chose MHC even though it was a bit pricier than other models.
It has been 15 weeks, I am about to have the baby and still no furniture! The company has said the wood did not come from Europe, then the truck that was supposed to deliver to Manhattan has not arrived, etc.
I am hoping this furniture looks good and is well made for all the trouble we have had to get it (and we still do not have it!).

Big Headaches with Mother Hubbard!
We ordered a $680 changing table model 7385-25 from Baby Furniture Warehouse Store (Braintree, MA) on 1/20/07.Months later, when we received the table, the 6 drawer handles didn’t fit because the holes were drilled wrong (incorrect spacing between 2 holes – not easily fixed). We repeated called the store. The salesman (Dan) was polite but disinterested. He repeatedly promised to call back but didn’t do so. We were promised replacement drawer fronts, these were always “coming on the next truck but never arrived.Dan eventually got tired of our calls and referred us to Mother Hubbard itself. They too were polite, but again it required MANY calls to eventually, after many weeks, receive new drawer fronts. To install the new parts, which were not pre-drilled, I had to carefully align and drill 30 holes. About a 90 minute job (for a mechanical engineer with tools).Overall a big hassle which should not be necessary when you pay $680 for an item.

I ordered the "Goodnight Goodnight" collection, and was amazed at all the choices they offered. The sales person I had was able to tell me everything I wanted to know. The furniture is made with solid wood, but also with veneers. It feels very solid and sturdy. They have heavy duty drawers, and durable drawer glides. I have the tall double dreser, night stand, Bella convertible crib, and the converion kit (that will make my crib a full size big kids bed) in thier cherry finish and it is beautiful! I spent about $1900.00, and am totally happy. I was also happy to know that I will probably be able to add to my set, like a desk and bookcase, later when my child gets older. I would recommend taking a good look at what they have to anyone with kids... or having them!

Warning-- MHC furniture is not what it's cracked up to be! I paid $820 for a tall double dresser in the "Once Upon a Time" collection in June 2007. The company purports "quality wood construction", but the only solid wood in the piece is the drawer sides. All the rest is fiberboard covered in veneer-- including the top, sides, legs and drawer fronts. The drawers are dovetailed but not blocked for durability. But the worst part about my experience was that the top had obvious defects that were poorly touched up with a marker of some sort. And all the drawer fronts were rimmed with a sticky, glue-like substance that took me several hours to scrub off! What kind of company would send out a product like this to a customer? It looked like it had come off a showroom floor, not like a piece of brand new, expensive furniture. My husband and I were willing to spend a little bit more money for what we thought would be a superiorly made product-- we were sorely mistaken and extremely disappointed.
