Got the Simplicity Providence Convertible for $200 at Wal-Mart, one of the few stores that carried decent weight and appearance cribs. Babies R Us in this area is almost all pine for convertible cribs or cribs that don't convert all the way. My tree-expert father in law has made crack seem like a better idea than pine furniture.
Was easy to assemble, solid, handsome, my 2-year-old loved it and made me finish putting it together so she could sleep in it the first night. Good quality item for the money. And it was nice to find it for the same price at a store as on the web.

We bought the Aspen model from Walmart for $119 as a second crib.Currently, my daughter is using it as a toddler bed. The crib was extremely easy to assemble. The toddler bars aren't very useful - they only come in about 18" inches from the head and foot of the bed.The underbed storage drawer was a piece of trash. My husband could not get it put together (it wasn't square) and we threw it away.Fully assembled, the crib is extremely sturdy. Why pay $$$$ for anything else??

We purchased a Simplicity Ellis Dresser/Changer combo from BRU.com for $249.99 + $28 for shipping. The dresser came within the 2 week period that BRU promised the only problem is that when we tried to put the dresser together the bolts that they sent were rusty and one of the pieces was cut incorrectly. We called the manufacturer on Sunday but they were closed. Monday, my husband was able to talk to someone and they sent us the new piece and bolts. Thursday the parts were delivered. Unfortunately the piece that they sent us was the wrong color, still cut wrong and we found a piece that was cracked! Being in my pregnant impatient state, I called BRU and asked them to pick up the dresser/changer and we purchased a new one from a different manufacturer.

I purchased the Simplicity Ellis crib (and the combo dresser) from Target...but about 500 dollars all together. While putting the crib together we realized that there was a hole missing in one of the front legs. It HAD to be there, otherwise we could not screw the bolt in. Long story short, I had to call Simplicity 3 times (and finally speak with a supervisor) in order to get the correct part delivered. 4 incorrect legs delivered later, we were successful in getting the one we needed. Each time the correct leg was delivered, but the colors were off significantly...I guess due to being made in different factories. On the other hand, we didnt have problems with the Changer Combo, as it turned out nicely. We decided to forgo the knobs that came with the piece (kind of cheap looking) and we put our own knobs on. The set looks like a million bucks...and appears to be WAY more expensive than what we actually paid. I can not speak about the sturdiness of the crib (though it seems very sturdy) as the baby is not due until December. Overall I am satisfied.

My wife and I ordered Simplicity Ellis Cherry Finish 4-in-1 Crib from the Target.com website. We really liked the style of the crib and it also had good reviews. After considering many other cribs, we finally decided this was the one we wanted.Several online stores carried the Simplicity Ellis crib, but most were out of stock. I decided to order from Target.com since they had it in stock. The crib only cost $249, but Target.com added an additional $122.98 shipping charge, which I feel was excessive, especially considering the poor condition of the box when it arrived. Some reviews on the website said that you could find the crib in SuperTarget stores and avoid the shipping charge, but none of the stores in my area carried it.As I mentioned before, the box was extremely damaged when it arrived. One entire side of the box was completely ripped open and some of the parts were falling out. However, the parts were well packed and protected. Except for two crib rails which were scratched and dented, the rest of the crib was unharmed. I called Simplicity customer service, and they agreed to ship out replacements free of charge.Except for a few typographical mistakes, the instructions were very clear and easy to understand. It took a little over an hour to assemble the crib by myself.Overall the Simplicity Ellis crib looks is very beautiful and is extremely sturdy. It has four different levels for the mattress. In addition it can covert from crib, to toddler bed, to day bed, to full-size bed. And the best part is that it doesn't require any special rails or conversion kits to change it to a full-size bed. You can use regular mattress rails. It comes with everything else that you would need.Even with the excessive shipping charge, the bed was still cheaper than most of the other cribs we considered. Overall, it is a beautiful, well-built crib for a great value. They also have great customer service. I would highly recommend this crib.
