Good furniture at great price, January 10, 2007
Reviewer: LilMonkeysMom from Pennsylvania

Pros: Price, appearance, sturdy, customer service
Cons: Made of "soft wood" so it marks easily

We purchased the Ameriwood Lifetime Crib in Natural ($250) and the matching changing table ($110). The furniture was easy to put together and looks beautiful. I did a lot of shopping around and felt that this crib was a good balance between quality and cost - it is sturdy and attractive but without costing $500. As I've heard from other parents, we did have some trouble with pieces arriving damaged (with the changing table in particular), but all it took was a 5-minute phone call to the company and they sent me replacement pieces immediately. I was REALLY pleased with how easy it was to deal with the company. I have noticed that the wood marks easily, which is the case anytime furniture is made with a soft wood, and I should add the furniture still looks great (only a couple of barely noticable marks after these first few months of use). I would definitely buy this crib and changing table again.

I have purchased a crib, rocker with ottman, changing table, dresser and side table and everytime we bought from this company we always had a problem. The Rocker came with a side rail that wouldn't screw into the rocker because the screws were not lining up so we couldn't get a replacement part unless calling the company directly and it took forever for them to mail it to us. Our crib came cracked and we had to call the company directly to get replacement parts because you can't return the product to BRU any replacement parts have to be ordered through the company directly. The changing table was difficult to assemble but thankfully the parts were all there. The dresser was put together from BRU, no problem and the side table well they had two A pieces so once again we had to call the company directly to get them to send us side B. This company is horrible and we should have learned our lesson buying one item but we didn't until the last item so we will not be purchasing anymore items from this company, it's better to buy from a better rating company and pay the extra cost.

We just finished putting together the Jardine Capri Single Crib (in Antique Walnut). We purchased it from Babies R Us for $199. When we first tried to assemble it, we realized that there were multiple pieces missing. I suspect that the crib had been returned and BRU just sent it back out without checking. Instead of returning it, I emailed customer service. Exactly 2 weeks later, I had my missing pieces (some were big so 2 weeks isn't bad). The crib is VERY easy to build. My husband and I are NOT handy and we figured it out quickly and easily. The crib looks great and feels secure. I do wonder about it's durability over time since it is a dropside with plastic parts. Also, the wood looks good, but I'm not sure that will last. Overall, I am VERY pleased with the crib. The baby is not here yet, so I'll let you know if it can stand an active baby.

Now I understand why BabyBargains gave the Jardine furniture an F. My husband and I purchased this changing table for our nursery from BRU and there must have been about 50 parts with 4 of them broken. Plus, the stain on the furniture was not consistent and is made mostly of cheap particle board. I contacted Jardine to get replacement parts which I should have received this week. I called again today to check the status of these parts and they said that it will be another 2 weeks. So much for having the nursery done before our son gets here.

Jardine Windsor crib quality surprised me., August 15, 2006
Reviewer: Chelsea from Evansville, IN

Pros: Crib is sturdy, solid wood and has spring base for mattress
Cons: Drop side doesn't click back in at the top automatically.

We bought the second cheapest crib from Babies R Us, $199. I was actually surprised at the quality of the Jardine crib though. It's solid wood and was VERY easy to put together, very clear instructions.

The only bad thing is the drop side doesn't click back in the grooves when you lift it up. We have to hold it up and pull at the bottom to get it to go into the little slots. It's annoying, but not enough to take it apart and drag it all the way back to the store. It hasn't been used yet, so it may even need to be "broken in"
