Excellent customer service responding to recall / broken part, August 27, 2009

Pros: Quality, sturdiness, response to issues
Cons: Nothing

We love our hush-a-bye crib - it is beautiful and well-constructed. When we heard from a friend that the installation instructions were misprinted, the company was extremely responsive in getting us the proper instructions for reinstalling the base. In making the correction, however, a piece broke on the platform, and when we told the company, they shipped out an entire new platform to us immediately. Their response time and response to our problem was amazing - would definitely recommend this company.

Hush a Bye Recall, and awful Company Service, February 14, 2009

Pros: It's a nice crib, but it is not safe
Cons: Uhhh.... The Recall and the company response to the recall!!

Look for all of you thinking about purchasing a Mother Hubbard Crib I have two words for you... DO NOT! I purchased the hush a bye crib for my daughter Isabella, and when she stood up in the crib for the first time the other day it worried my wife, because it seemed like she could get out easily. My wife searched on the internet and found out the crib we purchased was recalled!!! The company lies on many levels, first of all they say they are built in Canada, they are not, the crib that we purchased was built in Bulgaria, most of their cribs are built in Bulgaria, they only paint them in Canada, apparently to "match up the colors" So that made in Canada sticker... yeah that's not quite accurate! So I called the company about the recall and a gentleman named Brett answered the phone. He cut me off immediately after I mentioned the recall and directed me to his website. He would have hung up the phone on me at that point in time If I didn't stop him from doing it. All of the other companies who have had recalls on their cribs have sent out new cribs, or credits, or something. This company told me I have to fix their recalled crib, but inverting a stabalization bar that holds the mattress up. What's worse is they blamed the recall on the people who wrote the assembly directions! Pass the buck huh... or should I say eh? When you look at the new assembly instuctions, it is clear that they were never intended to work this way, it just so happens that it gives just about 26 inches of clearance between the top of the mattress and the lowest top of the crib. So now I'm stuck with a recalled crib, that has a patchwork fix, made by a company filled with liars, who have no intention of helping me, or even illustrating a feeling of sympathy towards myself, my wife and my daughter.

Do not purchase anything ever made by this company EVER!

Just to recap... Bought a crib, it was recalled, they lied about why it was faulty, and then they told me to fix it myself. Sound like a company you want to deal with or a product that you want to lay your baby down in every night?

Great looking products at the factory store - Owner's wife insulted me, March 8, 2009

Pros: Very nicely designed conversion and crib sets
Cons: Expensive, owner's wife

My wife, my mother and I walked into their factory store in Wixom, MI. The owner's wife walked over (I found out it was the owner's wife through a conversation they had in front of us) and immediately directed us towards their most expensive set. I tried to ignore the fact that her shirt was unbuttoned so far that both cups of her bra were showing. Had she been 25 years old I wouldn't have complained, but she hadn't seen 25 in at least 30 years.

She showed us that set after giving us a sermon on how awful Chinese and Indian contracted sets are and how being made in Canada makes theirs the best available.

Then she showed us the second set. It was a black conversion set loaded with baby boy accents. I looked at it (we're having a girl) and said to her "I don't know, this looks a little too much like a boy's set." She gives me this horrible look and said "No way - put some pink with this and then it's for girls - WRONG!" I don't know about you, but I don't really appreciate someone telling me I'm wrong like that right off the bat. Especially when obviously they thought to make it a boy's model.

If you can put up with behavior like that, more power to you, but I walked out of the store. Honestly though, they do have really cool stuff. I'm in my early 30's and their stuff is very current.

Pros: Quality furniture that we can add pieces to, as our daughter and her wardrobe grow! :)
Cons: zero

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our buying experience when dealing with Mother Hubbard's Cupboard. We started off buying furniture for our newborn and continue to add pieces as our daughter continues to grow and her needs change. We especially were appreciative of the quick delivery time.

It's nice to feel as if Mother Hubbard's Cupboards and their products are part of our growing family! Thank you for providing exceptional service and quality Canadian furniture for our family.
