Crib and Dresser both look beautiful, August 21, 2006

Pros: Solid hard wood, beautiful color, nice design
Cons: Crib was difficult to assemble, no dovetailing in drawers

After an exhaustive search for a crib and dresser we finally decided on Rumble Tuff. I was looking for a sliegh style crib in a darker wood finish (cherry or chocholate) that was both sturdy and solid but not massive in size or price. I had no idea how hard that would be to find. Finally, at Children's Land in San diego the sales woman suggested this company. They did not have a model of the crib on the floor but she showed me a picture and I was able to see the dresser in the matching finish (cherry). I went on a leap of faith and could not be happier. It is everything I was trying to find. We paid $499 for the convertible Natalie Crib in cherry and $599 for 49" Shaker dresser/combo. Plus it arrived in about 6 weeks (rather than 8-10 I was quoted!). The price was a bit higher than I hoped we find, but the quality seems so much better than the cheaper stuff. The wood does not dent from your fingernail as many of the BRU models did. The cherry finish is a very pretty, rich color without looking too red as some of the other lines looked to me. Only complaint was crib assembly-very little instruction and some holes not drilled all the way through. A first lesson in parenting patience!

Well made furniture for reasonable prices, August 16, 2005

Pros: Great product for a great price, many stain choices
Cons: Not widely available

I have nothing but great things to say about our RT dresser.

We ordered a 6-drawer dresser from the Shaker line. We were able to choose a stain color that matched our Pali crib perfectly.

The dresser is very well made and arrived in one piece (no assembly required) and in a timely manner. The drawers are quite large and hold a lot of clothes and diapers!

We chose to get a regular dresser rather than a separate changing table or hi-lo type of thing. We bought a changing pad and attached it to the dresser without a problem and used it for months that way.

We are excited that this piece will grow with our child. We can buy matching beds, desks, and bookcases to match as his needs change.

I only wish that they were more widely available. Where I live you can order the pieces at only one store and they only have a couple pieces on display.

Pros: Great style
Cons: Quality not as claimed

I had read positive reviews for Rumble Tuff in the Baby Bargains book so I checked out your website to see the collections. I loved the look of the Del Mar collection and was very interested in purchasing a dresser and hutch. I was impressed with a statement on their website, "Our drawer boxes are designed and assembled in the french dovetail style, made from layered plywood for strength and durability." I went to a USA Baby store in Scottsdale, AZ to view the furniture in person. I looked at two different case pieces and was surprised to find that neither had dovetailed drawers, rather, they were stapled. I went home and called Rumble Tuff to find out if their production standards had changed. The lady on the phone assured me that Rumble Tuff continues to use dovetail construction on their case pieces. I returned to USA Baby and confirmed what I had earlier noted: the drawers on the pieces were stapled, not dovetailed. I would have loved to purchase their furniture; however, what I saw in person does not match what is claimed on their website. The quality is just not there, in my opinion.

Pros: Durable, any color, value
Cons: Basic designs--could use more frills for girls

I paid about $640 for a 6 drawer dresser in May 2005 in a light finish. It works very nicely for my daughter's room--I wanted a light finish, but not white. Very few makers had this. Has some detailing on bottom and top drawer. I use the top as a changing table. Holds all of her clothes. Goes well with the Simmons crib I purchased for her brother 3 years ago.

I have the Shaker series combo dresser/changing table and the night stand. Bought 1 in 2002 and the other in 2005. It is great to be able to get matching finishes and styles as I add to my son's room.

The furniture is surprisingly cheap for what you get. Very durable, well made etc. I really like it. Our local store offers it delivered and set up etc for an additional $50 fee. Great!
