We bought the Simmons Crib 'n more from BRU for about $500 after coupons and such. It converts from a crib to a daybed to a full-size bed and included the parts for the daybed conversion (though at 9 months and hopefully with another one to use it, that won't be for quite a while!)The directions that came with the crib were easy to follow. It would have been nice if the one putting the crib together had read the directions, looked at the picture, or listened to my description as he couldn't seem to figure out which way was up. In all, the crib took about 1 hour to put together, though everything was easy to do once the directions were followed...The single drop-side rail is very easy to use. Though we only recently started usig this feature, I've not had any problems doing it one-handed.The mattress heights, as per most cribs, are difficult to adjust. A second set of hands is VERY helpful, though not necessary. We did the typical "skip the middle positions" thing and won't have to do that again. We did not buy the whole furniture set. Instead, we purchased the crib in a natural finish and made a dresser and bookcase/changing table to our own specifications. In all, it looks great together and saved us money, if you have that option.

I think the quiet drop rail was my favorite feature.
Cons:

Our simmon's crib was lent to us by a friend who co-slept with her baby, so it was virtually brand new. We found it to be a nice, simple crib, one sided drop rail, neutral styling, nice spring mattress support, wood nicely finished, very sturdy, side rail is VERY quiet and smooth, would highly recommend.

I purchased a Simmons Crib n More, Cambridge Collection in Mocha finish from BRU in the Summer of 2006 for about $400. I could not be more pleased with this purchase! It is far superior to the Forever Mine crib I purchased for my daughter in 2003. The wood is lovely, the conversion is included, the drop side is silent and the best I have ever seen, the mattress to drop side ratio is perfect for getting baby in and out no matter what level the mattress is set at. I just could not be happier and highly recommend this crib!

We purchased the whole set of Simmons Chateau collection (crib, dresser, changing table (combo unit) and hutch) in the Pecan finish. Our baby is not here yet but so far we are pleased. The drawers on the dresser and combo unit slide easily and have a nice "catch" so there is control when opening and closing. I like how deep the drawers are...they will fit quite a few clothes. My husband (who is very handy and does a lot of jobs around the house) reports that the crib was easy to put together. He feels it is strong and sturdy.I can see this furniture taking our daughter throughout her entire childhood....seems very functional. This is one of the few cribs I found that turns into a toddler bed then double bed that has a drop rail. That was an important feature while I was looking for cribs. I've been practicing with the drop rail. It works like a charm. Very easy in general and a snap to do one handed.I do feel the furniture was a bit overpriced, but quite comparable to every other set we looked at.We ended up paying around $1800 for all four pieces (crib, combo unit, hutch, dresser). The hutch alone, which goes atop the combo unit was $400, which I think was ridiculous for what is essentially a couple of shelves. For the price we paid, we did get real wood, but also some particle board on the back of the pieces. I would have liked to see some dovetail construction on the drawers.Again, I must reiterate, everything else we looked at was in the same price range and I am certainly hopeful that over the long haul, the pieces are worth the price. We purchased everything at Baby Depot and it was IN STOCK! I was thrilled as I had heard horror stories about waiting up to 12 weeks for pieces and then receiving a broken or damaged piece. We were lucky. You can check out the whole Chateau collection at http://www.sjpcorp.c om/furn_viewall.cfm

Pros:
Solid wood construction, pretty lines
Cons:
The conversion kit is worthless with no toddler rail

Bought our Simmons Venetian crib from BRU and were very happy with it until it was time to convert to a toddler bed. We spent extra money to get a 2 in 1 crib to be able to remove one side when our daughter was ready to transition. We paid around 40 for the conversion kit which ended up being two pieces of wood and a few bolts. There was no toddler side rail for the conversion kit, so the whole side of the crib is wide open. The first night she slept with the open side, she fell out of the bed three times in the first hour. We ended up just getting her a twin bed with a safety rail, so the whole concept of the 2 in 1 was a complete waste of time and money.
