Pros:
Solid crib, good price
Cons:
A little trouble getting it

I am not exactly sure which model I have, since we ordered it almost a year and a half ago (DD is 14 mos now). I was looking for a crib that converted to a full-size headboard somewhere down the line, had a one-hand drop-side, and had a drawer underneath. I narrowed it down to this one and one from Pali which was a harder wood but was much more expensive. Then I figured that this is kids furniture and it was probably going to get scuffed and scratched regardless of the wood, so I might as well get the pine Berg model. We also ordered the changing table/dresser and the matching hutch. The whole set was very late to arrive at the store - the store said something about Berg moving and not answering calls. The changing table/dresser piece arrived damaged (apparently it was smashed in transit) and then it took another three weeks to get another one (we finally had everything about 3 days before my due date - that's cutting it close). I can't really blame the manufacturer, though, because the store manager would do absolutely nothing to move the process along - I thought the store should have at least asked the company to express ship the damaged piece. Now that we have them, the pieces are wonderful. We just moved to a new house, and the crib disassembled and reassembled easily, and everything still looks great. The drawers slide easily - maybe a little too easily (you'd think that these companies could put child-proof locks on the drawers, since they are going in kids rooms). In all, I am very glad we didn't spend the extra money on the more expensive set - but I am glad we didn't get anything cheaper either - this is really great quality for the money.

Pros:
Beautiful pine wood and not that pricey.
Cons:
Soft wood can be damaged easily- be gentle with it.

I based my decision to buy the Berg crib based on the design and value. The Forest sleigh crib was on sale for $400 (including tax) at my local designer baby boutique (I hate BRU). I also bought the combo dresser for about $460 using a coupon. I wanted a drop-side sleigh-style crib in a honey oak tone for a more country-style nursery. There isn't a lot out there fitting this design, but i found another one made by legacy that was about $100 more for the crib and $150 for the dresser. Also, Berg includes the under-crib drawer for free, whereas other companies charge extra for this. Other review on the BB website cited concerns about the soft pine wood being scratched up on the floor models. I think most cribs take some beating from kids but i would suggest you be very careful when assembling the crib. One of our crib sides was damaged when we opened the box. It had some glue residue on it that i couldn't get off. Also one of the dresser drawers doesn't glide perfectly smoothly. I took back the crib side and luckily they had another crib in stock and just swiched out the piece. Also the store gave me a white drawer (comes in a separate box), which i had to take back and exchange. Although I wouldn't suggest unpacking the entire crib until you get home, at least take a peek inside to make sure the color is right and there's no apparent damage or color mistake. The assembly directions were super easy. They include photos and extra nuts and bolts. It does take two people. We have already disassembled it once and that wasn't that hard. Oh, and there was also a cute card thanking us for our purchase. A nice gesture. I would highly recommend this crib.

We bought the Bryce Crib and Combo/changing unit for our baby. We bought it in Mahagoney. We absolutely love it. It is a three in one crib that we will use for a long time. The color is beautiful and the quality is excellent.

Cons:

Our version of Baby Bargains did not rate this manufacturer as it was fairly new at the time our edition was published. We went out to our local baby store and tried out a bunch of cribs and dressers. We shook the cribs around, DH (6'0", 220lbs) hung on the dressers to see if they'd tip, opened and closed drawers etc., etc.We liked the look of the Berg crib, we got the Sydney Convertible Crib from their Mountain Collection. It did not have a drop side, which we like and thought was more sturdy and was a convertible which was a feature that was pretty important to me. It was easily put together and as sturdy as we wanted it to be.We also got the matching dresser/changing table combo with the available hutch. DH hung onto the top shelf of the hutch once we put it together and lifted his feet off the ground to test to see if the dresser would tip, it didn't even budge. These pieces are beautiful, they look great in our daughter's room. The changing table is convenient and now that DD is 2, we can take the changing pad off and put other stuff on the top of her dresser. The hutch holds a lot of her books and other baby knick knacks. We just converted the crib into the toddler bed and couldn't be happier with it.The pine is soft and does scratch. We have two Labs, one who loved to jump up and look at DD while she was lying on changing table and his nails have done a bit of damage to the fronts of the drawers. However, unless you were looking closely, you wouldn't even see the depressions in the wood as his nails did not scratch the wood in a way that changes the wood's color. We figured, for children's furniture, this was a good deal for what we paid, (about $1700 for all three pieces) and we knew that any furtniture we bought would take a beating.Very happy with this purchase.
