Pros:
Don't have usual quality flaws, usually find with imports.
Cons:
Way over priced, you can get it for 40-50% cheaper.

AP ind. used to make their stuff in Canada and had decent quality, but they could not afford that any more and since they have gone to the far East, but did not pass on the savings that is why I am giving them a C+, another word nothing impressive.EDITOR'S NOTE: Gary Bryant of AP responded to this review:I am the VP of Sales and Marketing for AP Industries. AP Industries both imports and manufactures cribs/beds however all cases and mirrors are proudly made in Canada in the only 100% ISO certified plant in North America finishing cases goods. It is largely due to the ISO certification that we achieve less than .05% defective. The cost of our products are based on the many options such as 19 finishes and two hardware option offered on every collection in Generations by AP Industries which Generates over 15,000 skus. We offer catalyzed finishes as opposed the inferior nitrocellulose lacquers. While the catalyzed finishes are more expensive they provide protection against water, markers, paints, and fingernail polishâ€õall products that children use in their rooms. The construction featuring solid birch and veneer provides bedroom furniture that stands the test of time. I have four children and have been a user of AP Industries for over 10 years. Now my children who are located in Winston Salem, Raleigh, Boston, and Tuscaloosa still find the products to be in style, solid working manor, and therefore a value!

For my first son we bought Pali furniture...great quality and it has held up well. But for our second son we wanted something a bit more contemporary. We consider our baby furniture an investment to last a lifetime. We buy convertible cribs, so the quality has to be good enough to last for many years as this is the only furniture we plan to buy for them. After looking for months and considering lines such as Baby's Dream, Morigeau, Romina, Munire and Capretti we happened to find AP. I instantly fell in love with the clean lines of the furniture and the fact that you can choose from so many different collections and colors (including knob styles). The construction is top notch, all our pieces are stamped made in Canada. The drawers all have french dovetailing, glide smoothly, and do not wiggle or shake at all when you open and close them (a problem we found with many lines). The crib has 3 height settings and a metal spring platform. I believe the construction is even better than my other son's Pali furniture. We purchased the Shutterfield Convertible Crib, the Large Double Dresser from the Charmer Collection, the Mule Chest also from the Charmer Collection, and the day bed/full bed conversion kits. We got all pieces in the Espresso finish with brushed silver knobs. Total price paid with tax was $2800. We were quoted 8-12 weeks for delivery...it all was in within 7 weeks. Purchased from Babies N Beds in Elmhurst, IL who delivered it to me in Chicago and set it all up for only $175. To say that the furniture is stunning is a serious understatement. The finish is absolutely flawless and the espresso is a deep, rich, chocolate brown. I love this furniture so much I'm considering buying new furniture for the master bedroom from AP Industries!
I am beyond pleased and highly recommend this manufacturer.

We had a very difficult time chosing our nursery furniture. We originally fell in love with a Munire set but learned the "standard" lead time was 12 weeks (but actually 16 weeks or longer). On a recommendation from a friend, we went to Babies 'n Beds (in Hoffman Estates, IL) and decided on the AP Industries Paradise crib and got the Charmer dresser (1410) with hutch. My husband made the store manager PROMISE that this was made in Canada and that there were no seas to cross in sending it here (we learned that one of the reasons why the orders from East Asia were so delayed is that they do not ship until all shipping containers are full -- there may be plenty of furniture to send to waiting customers, but due to shipping costs they wait until every last inch is filled). Ultimately, we could not have been happier with our purchase from AP Industries. The furniture is very high quality and looks great! The construction is VERY SOLID and after 6 months we have not had to tighten a single bolt or screw. Also, the furniture just "looks" like a higher quality compared to others we have seen. We chose the Paris finish and my husband was worried that the Canadian Birch hardwood would result in a stain that looks "tiger striped". Yes, the grain shows, but it looks great. It looks like real wood and has a classic, yet modern look. Also, we paid for the in-house set-up with delivery and they did an excellent job. We were a little leery, as we've had bad experiences with in-home installation before, but we were very pleased with the service we received. The father & son who set it up were very courteous and competent. They removed their shoes when they entered the house and asked if we had any pets, so that they could take extra care when opening and closing doors. In the end, we feel like we lucked out by having to switch our choice to AP Industries and are actually glad that our original choice was so delayed. We later came to learn that the "mohagony" wood in the Munire set was actually Philipino mahogany which is nowhere near the quality of "true" mahogany hardwood. On an end note, we must compliment the overall service provided by Babies 'n Beds. The store was a little sparse and didn't have the "frills" of some of the other "corporate" stores, but we paid a good price and the staff was definitely "old school service" (they were also very patient, as it literally took us hours to pick out the finish, hardware and other details). We have had some bad experiences with purchasing furniture that arrives damaged or very late and have found it very difficult to remedy the situation, as we've found that many corporate stores contract out their services (particularly installation) and create an endless hierarchy of $10/hour jobs so that nobody is accountable for anything. It was nice to deal with a store that demonstrates ownership of the total process and their commitment to their customers. Overall, we were very happy customers and would recommend them to anyone.
