Pros:
High quality, great price, waterproof and no chemicals
Cons:
none

We purchased the NaturePedic No-Compromise Organic Cotton mattress and are very happy with our choice. No chemical off-gassing, no sweaty baby and it's waterproof! The frame edges are reinforced which makes it more sturdy than the standard crib mattress and it fits perfectly in our Bonavita crib.

Pros:
none of those harsh chemicals. babies are in their cribs like half their time!
Cons:
hard to find, ordered from obscure online shop, had issues with shipping time, arrived after baby!

this seems to be the same size and quality of a standard mattress. but i'm glad i found something without all the chemicals. other organic or natural mattresses were $400-600 plus. this seemed to be the most afforable!

Pros:
Safe mattress that I feel good about & great function
Cons:
Price & having no review to go on when I bought it

I spent a lot of time researching mattresses. I really didn't want my baby sleeping on a vinyl/PVCs encased mattress; which is nasty stuff. I was not too keen on the foam or fire barrier in other mattresses either. Anyway, I feel comfortable that this mattress will result in great air quality for my baby (you can do your own research on that). What was hard for me, was that there were not ANY reviews from real people out there on the internet about how the mattress served its function. Buying it was a leap of faith. Well, not it is in my (Pali) crib, and fits perfect. The firmness and feel seems just right to me. The polyethylene waterproof surface feels good and don't produce a crinkly noise when pushed on. My four month old baby has been sleeping in it since her fourth night - and seems perfectly content. I have the organic version, because that is what the store had in stock, but I am sure they both function the same. I am feeling good about the purchase, and wanted to let others know, since it was concerning for me to buy it with no reviews. There is a store locator function on their website (naturepedic.com), and maybe you will find that a local store sells the mattress - that did happen for me - and was helpful as the family-run shopkeeper said they sell quite a few of these and have had no complaints, plus she has an easy return policy. Anyway, have no fear - I am very satisfied.
