Pros:
Roomy enough so our baby still fits comfortably at 8 months
Cons:
Sometimes the latch gets stuck while lifting it off the base
|
|
We have the Combi Tyro with the Savona stroller in Ocean. We love it. The Tyro looks much roomier than the Graco which was also one of our options. Since the stroller and car seat don't come as a package we called a few stores got some price matching done, used an in store coupon and got it for the same price as a Graco Quattro tour ($199). Price matching rules!!It fits well in our car (Camry). The only problem is that when lifting the car seat off the base the latch tends to catch. We planned to exchange our base/ seat but we tried all the others at the store and they all had the same problem. It is definitely a problem in the design. So we have to push down with one hand on the seat to unstick it. However we realized that this may have something to do with the baby's weight since as our baby has grown, it has become less of an issue. Overall, I would definitely recommend it and would buy a Combi car seat again.

Pros:
longer use for larger babies and breathable fabric
Cons:
large seat may be difficult to install in smaller vehicles
|
|
I really like this seat. I have larger babies and am happy to be able to use this seat longer than the snugride (which I used for my other child). I really like the breathable fabric so baby doesn't get overheated. I find it easy to use if you read the directions. If not, it's tricky to get used to. It works well with the combi stroller and attaches securely.

Pros:
Easy to use, comfy for baby
Cons:
Installation is difficult
|
|
The Combi Tyro is a nice alternative to the Graco seats. The seat is roomy, easy to get in and out of the base (once you master the trick for releasing the back) and has a comfortable handle for carrying.Installation of the base itself can be very frustrating -- it takes a little jiggering to get everything working right together. One thing I particularly liked about this seat was that it travels well in that you can install it in a backseat without the base and it is every bit as secure as when it is on the base itself.

Pros:
Longer life because it accomodates babies up to 29 inches
Cons:
Sometimes hard to get it out of the base
|
|
We have the combi tyro along with the Ultra Savvy TS. Because the seat accomodates longer babies we were able to use the seat until our baby was 8 months. While the seat is at times difficult to remove from the base, once you get use to taking it in and out, it's a snap. The shade on the car seat and the ergonomic handle are a great plus. Makes it easy to transport the baby in and out of the car. The seat is very comfy and the breathable fabric kept DD comfortable through the summer months. The buckles are easy to use and the straps didn't get tangled very often. It was also easy to install on the plane! Overall, it's so worth the $150 and it's awaiting #2!

Pros:
higher ht/wt limits, not "foofy" looking, breathable fabric
Cons:
difficult to install, instructions leave much to be desired!
|
|
This carseat is great and easy to use- once you master installation. I highly recommend having it inspected by a CPS tech before use. The belt routers and incline dial are poorly placed, and the level has a very narrow "OK" zone. Once you have it properly installed, though, it is super easy to get in and out and comfy for baby!
