Good Seat - no major complaints, May 18, 2007

Pros: Fits well in car, nice looking
Cons: Canopy ripped, doesn't fit in shopping carts

We bought the '05 model in summer '06, and have been using it for more than 9 months. We bought it because it fit in the small backseat of our Maserati coupe. I use in in the Kolcraft universal stroller, and it works wonderfully!

The only complaints I have echo those of other posters:

1. The canopy always seems to be in the way, and got ripped at one point, near the connection to the seat. (I think it ripped when someone moved the handle back and it pulled wrong on the canopy.)

2. It does seem pretty wide, and I have had a hardtime fitting it in shopping carts. However, I did take it on a United Airlines flight, and it fit just fine.

Great Seat, Base and Stroller Lacking, November 15, 2006

Pros: DS loved it, secure snap into stroller and base
Cons: Fabric fuzzy, difficult to install base, stroller has issues

We bought this carseat in 7/05 for $149 and the stroller for $99.

The seat is awesome and I love it! DS slept comfortably and always seemed really content in it. As others mention, it doesn't fit into shopping cart's seat but I never had a problem putting it in the basket. We also flew on NWA and had no problems with it. I love the fact that it installs without a base because we didn't have to buy a $59 extra base for DH car which was rarely used.

Problems: 1. The extra base is $59. You could practically buy a whole new Snugride AND base for that price! You can install without but if you use two cars regularly, an extra base makes life easier.

2. The base is difficult to install with a seat belt. The seatbelt actually goes UNDER the base, so when you push down on the base to get a tighter fit, you are also pushing on the seatbelt...annoying! Latch isn't an issue though but we didn't have it in our center seat.

3. Like someone else mentioned, they already released a replacement model that is cheaper and has an easier to install base, the centre.

4. The Connection is compatible with very few Combi strollers and I think very few other strollers. This is an issue for me since we are expecting #2 and I really want to use the connection but don't want to buy a twin Combi stroller.

5. The Savvy that corresponds with this seat has NO storage space to speak of and is very short, ok, DH and I are tall, but it is seriously short. I do love how convenient it is for short trips but it has a lot of issues.

I do love the seat but I don't know if I would buy it again solely because of the base and the stroller.

Hope that helps someone!

Pros: easily snaps in/out of base; padding is nice
Cons: Wish it was lighter weight; something to hold straps back

We purcahsed the Combi Connection in July '05...and have been very happy with it. It's so easy to snap in/out of base. The shade is also easily moved around, providing our daughter with quick shade or blocking winds.

We also purchased the Savvy stroller, and are very happy with that as well. You can pull car seat out of base, pull stroller out of trunk, unfold stroller and snap carrier into stroller within 2 minutes. So convenient! And the pair navigate narrow aisles in stores as well.

We would recommend the Combi Connection infant car seat, and Savvy stroller without reservation. (Paid...Connection: $150, Savvy Stroller:$100)

Compact design, some difficulty snapping in stroller, May 15, 2006

Pros: Easy to snap in base, easy to handle for short people
Cons: Shade was a little small for low sun

We paid $149 in Hawaii for it. Been using it for 3 months. We also have the Savvy Soho Dx stroller which we love. The only problem is the stroller doesn't open so well with the car seat attachment piece. The stroller canopy tends to get caught on the car seat adapter on the sides when you are opening the stroller. We have to push out the canopy past the car seat attachment before it will open. Second, you have to really push down hard to get the infant carrier into the stroller. The "locked/unlocked" indicators show it's locked when sometimes it's not locked on the stroller. You still have to push the carrier down until you hear the click. Other than that, it's a nice car seat and baby is very comfortable in it.

Comfortable carseat - looks sporty, June 28, 2006

Pros: This carseat is very cozy for my baby
Cons: The top cushion part of the carseat started to fuzz

I bought this carseat in claret for my 6 month old daughter for $149. She absolutely loves it - she takes a lot of naps in it. I think she feels cozy in it.

The 2 downsides that I experienced were as follows: First the canopy came off - the cloth is flimsy and it ripped off. I called Combi and because it was under warranty they sent me a replacement canopy almost immediately. I just paid for the shipping charge. They did not have the claret color in stock so they sent me the grey and said that when the claret would be in stock, they would send it to me. It has been a month now and I still have not received my claret canopy.

The other issue is the cushion padding - after only 3 months of use, I noticed that it was starting to fuzz like a washed sweater. I have to use a fuzz remover weekly to keep the seat looking like new. A lot of work for $149.00. Thankfully I have an ionic fabric shaver that works like a charm to clean up that fuzz.
