Pros:
Installs easily & securely; puzzle buckle is more secure
Cons:
To wash the cover, you have to take the whole seat apart
|
|
I am not sure what the complaints are about this seat. I have found that I can install the seat in my Envoy easily and it is solid as a rock forward facing. I did have more difficulty getting it solid rear facing, which is why I gave it a slightly lower rating.I also think it is important to look at the fit for your child. My dd is very petite. She outgrew her infant seat in length looong before she outgrew it in weight. The Elite has a moveable buckle receptacle that let it fit her properly. I tried her in the Britax, Marathon and Graco's and the belts went across her thighs, not her hips. I also love the puzzle buckle that others have complained about. It hides the button to unbuckle the belts away from dd's curious and prying hands. I thought the button on the Britax in particular was way too easy to push to unbuckle. It takes a few extra seconds at first, but is easy once you practice at it a little. And who can complain about taking a few extra seconds to do something that makes your child safer? I also have not had a problem with the belts getting tangled. It has gotten good reviews from Consumer Reports for safety. In short, I think it is great and feel that my dd is very safe in it. And it will last for a verrry long time with the high weight limits!

Pros:
very secure, good padding
Cons:
short crotch strap, needs more tilt
|
|
We bought this car seat for our twins after it was recommended for safety by our local health department. At first I was unhappy with it because the crotch strap was short and kept pinching my girls' legs, but once I realized that the strap was adjustable and took the time to loosen the harness, I didn't have any more problems. I like that the babies are very secure in this seat, and they are comfortable as well due to the ample padding. The only complaint that I still have is that I wish the seat reclined a little more because I feel like my girls' heads fall forward a lot.

Pros:
Pockets on side to hold toys/cups
Cons:
Twisty straps, difficult install, tight harness adjuster
|
|
Run far far away from this seat. My other seat is a Britax Marathon and this seat pales in comparison.I have a very hard time getting this seat installed as tightly as I can my Marathon. The straps on this seat also get twisted ALL THE TIME. The harness adjuster is so tight, I can barely get it snug on my nephew (who is the occupant of this seat). The one I use also has the annoying puzzle buckle, but I believe that has been changed in newer models.I cannot tell you how much I hate this seat. I worry about my nephew's safety in it. I'm thinking about buying him a Britax instead.
