Pros:
safe, easy install, adjustable knob, extra head protection
Cons:
cleaning the cover is a big ordeal
|
|
We love the car seat. we initially debated between the Marathon and Blvd, and bought the Blvd because of the extra head support. Added bonus was the adjustable knob for the shoulder strap. After almost 9 mos of use, we've realized that we have dismantled the carseat and washed the cover more times than we would've dismantled the Marathon to adjust the shoulder strap, so the adjustable knob isn't really that big of a bonus. At least if you get the Marathon, there are lots of after market covers out there that simply slips on that is much much easier to wash. We are expecting our second soon, so we are going with the Marathon next.

Pros:
LOVE the adjustment know...so easy to switch between kids
Cons:
BRU exclusive right now = high prices and only one cover
|
|
We are foster parents and have lots of carseats for lots of kids. This one is hands down the best. Our older foster daughter had outgrown one of her seats (by height at age three), and freaked in a booster. We already had one MA for her but needed another seat. We were going to buy her another MA (much cheaper) but she begged for a seat with pillows (riding in a friend's wizard a few times did that for her). She saw this seat and fell in love with it. We decided to put this in our main car and her MA in our lesser used car.
It is super easy to install, like most Britax seats. We originally installed it RF for a few months before she hit the dreaded 33 lbs (at 3.5) and went FF. Super easy to switch.
She is now FF with it tethered and it is so incredibly tight in there. We occasionally use it for her younger sister (2 years old, still RF but we let her FF very occasionally) or other kids and it is SO EASY to switch the harness height for other kids. To tighten or loosen the harness is simple as well.
The current pattern isn't to die for, but it's not horrible either. We live in FL and so far the black fur hasn't been a problem like many people thought it would be.
We recently took a seven hour car trip, stopping only a few times. She was comfy the entire time and took a 2.5 hour nap in her Boulevard. We put the front seat back far enough so she could prop her feet on it, and she was great.
I wish it was not a BRU exclusive so we could get a better price and maybe another pattern (though I kind of like the one we have) but I would definitely buy it again if need be. I think the only thing I would change about the seat itself is making it a little deeper, do more of her legs can rest on it. Other than that, it's perfect! My DD loves it and so do we.
I have owned many carseats over the years, ones I've loved and ones I've hated, but this is by far the best car seat I have ever used.

As I'm sure all parents do, we did at least a month's worth of research before we decided on the BB. The price was a drawback at first, but we were lucky enough to find it on Ebay, new in box, for only $212.50 with free shipping!! That's over $100 cheaper than it would've been had we bought it at BRU ($320 w/ tax).I just got it installed this morning. The installation looked tricky, so I just took it to my local fire department and they installed it for me for free (correctly). It was not able to be installed in the middle of the backseat (I drive a 2002 Honda CRV-EX) due to the structure of my backseat, but it fits very well on the passenger side, where we were able to use the LATCH connectors. Our daughter loves it so far, and we love the fact that she'll be able to use it for years to come, as it goes up to 65 pounds. She's a big baby (5 months old, already 20 pounds) and was getting too big for her infant seat (Graco Snugride), not to mention that it was getting too heavy for me to carry and lift into the car!I look forward to using this seat!! :D7 Months Later......This seat is still worth every penny!! My daughter (who will turn 1 in a couple of weeks) is still comfortable in this seat. The installation has stayed rock-solid and she usually falls asleep in it. She still has plenty of room to grow and I'm glad she will be in this seat for years to come! The straps do get a little twisty from time to time but that's going to happen no matter what :pAlmost 1.5 years later...I still love this carseat! My daughter is still very comfortable in this seat and naps well in it when needed. It still looks like new and the installation is rock-solid. Love the belt adjuster, especially now with winter (sweaters/coats) coming...it's so easy to adjust the belts when she's wearing a jacket or coat.

Pros:
Side-impact protection, ease of harness adjustment, padding.
Cons:
Expensive, might not work well in a large vehicle.

I purchased the Britax Boulevard in March 2007 at a baby specialty store in my hometown. I paid $299.99 plus tax.I love love LOVE this carseat! We've been using it with my son since he was two weeks old. We had originally purchased a Graco Snugride, which we planned to use until he outgrew it and we had to purchase a convertible seat. But I never liked taking the infant seat out of the car (too cumbersome to carry around), preferring to take my baby out and carry him in a pouch when we shopped or whatever. So my husband and I decided to go ahead and purchase a convertible seat, and after much research we chose the Britax Boulevard. What sold me was the ease of the harness adjustment. You just turn the knobs to raise and lower the harness and headrest - no rethreading the harness as your child grows. As the mother of a tall, fast-growing boy, this was very important to me. I also loved all the padding when DS was tiny (we recently removed the body pillow since he's getting bigger). I also really like the side-impact protection feature (the "wings" on the headrest), which is missing on the Roundabout and Marathon. My son likes to lean on one of the "wings" when he sleeps in the seat. The straps are nice - they never get twisted, and I like the removeable shoulder pads. I also like that it has little velcro pieces on the sides to hold the straps out of the way while you put your child in...it's nice little features like that (along with the high safety ratings) that make Britax seats worth their high price tags, in my opinion. The fabric is nice and wipes off pretty easily. We have the Park Avenue print (blue and grey stripes), which looks really nice with my vehicle's grey interior. The whole seat just looks very comfortable...my son definitely seems to like it better than he liked the infant seat. The seat is really easy to install. I drive a 2005 GMC Yukon, and the LATCH system makes installation a breeze. I also love that this seat tethers when rear-facing - I can get a rock-solid installation every time. It is a big seat...it might not work well in a small car, although I really don't know as I've never tried it (my husband drives a 2004 4-door Chevrolet Silverado Z-71).Yep, it's an expensive seat, but I definitely think it's worth every penny!

Pros:
Safety, Comfort, TSIP, HUGS, Easy to use & install
Cons:
Size, Tether Restrictions
|
|
This seat would have had my top rating had it not been for the recall that happens to be on the seat I purchased. The top tether is now only good up to 50lbs, and all they are doing to fix this is give you a new sticker w/ the appropriate limitations. Other than this, it is the perfect convertible seat.
This seat has one of the highest weight limits for rear facing on the market. It has added infant support for smaller babies and works great when infant gets older to help support them while sitting up. The side impact is great and does not intervere w/ child's outside view at all (which was one of my worries). Great seat!
