Pros:
Cute, sheets fit mattress well and a good selection of options
Cons:
You have to buy a set which includes many unnecessary things
|
|
I bought this set because we wanted something neutral and an animal theme. All the optional things are cute and nice but not necessary. The frustrating part is that you can only buy some of it in the big set. The big set comes with unnecessary things like a valance, large rug/comforter thing and diaper hanger. I really just needed the sheets, the bumper and the dust ruffle. We also bought the lamp which is more just for looks and have the picture clings on the walls. The valance is not necessary as our nursery has 2 windows and I wanted full coverage curtains to block out the light. The rug/comforter is too thick to really use for anything. Maybe if you had hardwood floors you could use it as a rug. I have it on the carpet like a rug in her room because I don't know what else to do with it. The sheets, bumper and dust ruffle are all great. We have taken the bumper in and out of the crib numerous times depending on what phase the baby is in. When it becomes dangerous we remove so now that she is standing and climbing it has been removed from the crib. We are now expecting our second and plan to use the exact same stuff regardless of the gender. We painted the room a light green so it is just as nice for a little girl!

Pros:
Looks like new even after several washes. Safe, breathable bumper.
Cons:
Bedding only comes in a set----Who ever uses the diaper stacker anyway??

We purchased the Hello Kitty & Friends set. Great bedding, looks even better than the pictures show. My daughter LOVES to stare and giggle at the kitties and when she touches them, the fabric is soft yet stands up to her constant grabbing and scratching at it. I can also reverse the bumper on times when she's too entertained by the kitties to take a nap (the plain lavender side gets her to fall asleep sooner) The comforter is so nice that I actually used it as a decoration on her wall using a quilt hanger. If you have more than one window, you will need to purchase additional window valances.

Pros:
Cute design
Cons:
Starting to fall apart after one wash
|
|
I received the Lambs & Ivy Li'l Dino crib set (currently $169 at Babies r' Us) for my shower and it doesn't seem like it is going to last very long. I washed it once (using 7th Generation detergent, gentle cycle, air dry) and noticed that the edge of the sheet started to shred, the middle of the bed skirt developed holes, and there were little threads coming apart by the appliques on the quilt. I love the dinosaur pattern, but I am ready to return the whole thing because I think it is going to fall apart after a few more washings. Very disappointed.

Pros:
Cute Set for Boy
Cons:
Not enought bumper ties
|
|
The Tuscany set is even more adorable in person. I could only find it online at Babies R'Us for about $150. I love the green and yellow colors with all the little ducks and sheep. It's boyish without being too frilly or like your typical boy set in blue with fire engines. The quilt is especially soft. My main complaint is that it lacks enough bumper ties. I haven't washed the sheet yet, but it seems fine and fits well. I read on review on Amazon that said the sheet shrunk. But, if that happens, it will be easy to match the set with a generic yellow or greet sheet.
