Great Great Great! Recommended for jogging/walking, January 12, 2007

Pros: Very smooth 'Cadillac' ride. Easy one handed push.
Cons: Heavy, bulky, small sun canopy, huge when folded

I absolutely love this carriage for walking, jogging or running errands without a car. It's definitely not for travel, or even for malls, as it's way too big and bulky. But for walking, you can't get better than this one. It lays flat, so you can use it from the newborn stage. I like the way you put the seat up and down with the zippers. The basket is nice size, although you can't get to it when the seat is flat. I like the feel when I push it and they have nice color choices. I didn't even need a carriage pad for my newborn, as it has a cushion and a headrest for babies. It looks cool to boot.

Overall, I'd recommend this carriage to everyone for walking and jogging. But get yourself a travel stroller.

Great all-around stroller that only misses on a few marks, February 16, 2007

Pros: maneuverable, stable, and will go over ANYTHING.
Cons: Not the best for a jogger, front wheel lock doesn't work

After looking at our options for all-terrain strollers, we settled on a 2005 Runabout Deluxe we found on Ebay at a store closing them out. We payed $289 shipped, which seemed like a great price considering what the Tri-Mode goes for. It's been a great stroller from day 1 - it worked great for our newborn since it layed flat and our 3-month-old loves the out-front seat position so he can see everything around him. We were worried at first that the Runabout would be too big to take shopping, but quickly found that it wasn't a problem at all - the stroller fits fine between tight isles in cramped mall stores, and even if the clothes racks were close together the wheels would go over them with no problem. The stroller is surprisingly maneuverable as well - it pivots perfectly. The stroller has also worked great in our recent bad weather - in 4" of ice and snow, over pothole-covered parking lots and sidewalks, the ride is completely smooth. We even got some envious looks from other parents trying to push their smaller-wheeled strollers through the slush . My biggest complaint with the Runabout is the front wheel lock - it's pretty much worthless and kills its functionality as a jogging stroller. I can see now why the Tri-Mode is so much more expensive - the lock looks much better on the new model. The lock on the Deluxe is basically just a plastic sleeve that slides down over the hex-shaped front pivot, locking it in place. It would be fine if it just stayed in place - it's prepetually popping up at the most innopportune times, and the wheel will spin around unexpectedly. It does this when the wheel is locked back or forward. I've been brainstorming some possible fixes, but nothing has worked yet. I'd love to get my hands on the front pivot of a Tri-Mode to see if I can make it work on the Deluxe, but I'm not sure where to go for spare parts. The lock is great, though, for keeping the kiddo happy in the stroller if we've stopped for a minute to window shop or chat - just lock the wheel, put on the wrist strap, and he's content to be pushed forward and pulled back. Overall, though, we're very happy with the stroller - it's been great for our first kid, and with the toddler seat and piggyback board we're hoping it will last for a few more as well .

Bought a Trimode sight unseen and am very happy with it!, May 2, 2006

Pros: Sturdy, stable, smooth ride, steering, compact fold
Cons: Poor manual, harness adjustments, folding

Overall, this is a great stroller so far. It pushes well, looks sharp and is comfortable for our 1 year old baby. The improved hood is awesome. The various storage areas are great, especially the zip-out carry bag that can be carried or hang on the handlebar and leaves a mesh vent for airflow in its place. The new brake and rear suspension are also a nice new feature for the 2006 model. They make the ride very smooth. I also like the extras, including a standard rain cover, napper bar, infant headhugger and harness strap covers.

Like the previous Runabout, you can also add a toddler seat attachment or the Hitchhiker add-on for an older child to ride behind the stroller. With all the new updates, they still cut the weight by a pound or two, though the price is higher.

I haven't had it long enough to discover any major durability issues, but it seems very well made with quality welds throughout the frame and solid metal fasteners and snaps everywhere. The only minor issue I’ve noticed is a very slight squeak from the front wheel, mostly on large bumps. Hopefully, after some break-in and lubricant this will not be an ongoing issue. The owner's manual and the harness adjustments could also use some improvement and I would have liked a standard cupholder and a warranty longer than 12 months on an expensive stroller made in China. It's also a bit wider than most other strollers. That's great for stability outside, but not so good for narrow doorways or some store aisles.

While you probably can't go wrong with any of the popular all-terrain models, they each have some advantages and disadvantages. The Runabout Trimode seems to be most comparable to the MBUS. For the same price, you get a few extra features, sportier styling and some improvements like a better hood. It lacks the spartan, simple design of the MBUS, the narrower width, the easier push and the easier fold. The BJCS and BOB revolution are somewhat less expensive and also have their own advantages if you prefer the styling of a jogger. If you can find it, I highly recommend you take a look at the Trimode. I purchased mine from the great people at www.letsgostrolling. com , so if you are shopping around definitely give them a call!

I would have rated it a 10, but it does have some very minor flaws and so there is room for a perfect stroller to get the top rating someday. As for now, it's very comparable to any other 3-wheel all-terrain model, depending on your preferences.

Pros: Great looking, sturdy stroller.
Cons: Heavy.

This stroller is excellent for a city like Chicago. It looks chic, it is extremely sturdy and rides like a dream. I feel like my baby is so well protected in this stroller. I have the basinnet attachment which I love because it shields my baby from the harsh Chicago winter weather. We use it with the plastic cover and he cannot feel the cold weather or the wind! My husband loves it too for its rugged good looks. I would not recommend it if you need to get it in and out of a car, but it is great if your lifestyle mainly involves walking.

Pros: Interchangable-used from birth on up, great customer service
Cons: Can be wide-takes practice to get used to it

We paid about $500.00 for the 2005 model stroller, bassinet, and infant attachment @ www.letsgostrolling. com If you take some time to search other websites lets go strolling will match prices and make a package for you! So far we have used this stroller with the bassinet for our newborn to sleep in. It served as a great portable place for him to sleep. We even took it with us out. Once our son became more aware of his world we took off the bassinet and replaced it with the infant car seat attachment. We use the stroller all the time ! We needed a new tire and customer service replied fast with no charge ! The only thing I would recommend that Valco change is the belt that snaps across the car seat to secure it, I feel that it will limit the car seat use with the stroller once winter comes since heavy blankets/coats will be used..making it near to impossible to strap this belt across. I would suggest that Valco makes the infant carrier snap in like Silver Cross ..simple and not instrusive to the child.
