I love, love, love this stroller!! I can't say it enough! I am thrilled. When I was pregnant I insisted on getting a travel system despite seasoned mommies telling me otherwise. Naturally DS was big and outgrew his infant carrier by 3 months. So, the whole "travel system" thing went out the window real early. I wound up using the stroller (for trips to the store, zoo etc.), but hated how bulky it was and how terrible it maneuvered. After over a year and a half, I finally decided to go the "umbrella stroller" way (I use a jogging stroller for walks around the neighborhood). It's like I've seen the light!! I actually get excited to get the thing out and put DS in it. Isn't that nuts? It's so easy that it amuses me so! I did put him in a number of these types of strollers at BRU and this one was definitely the right size for him. At 18 months he was 35" and 31lb. He's almost 21 months now, so he's probably heavier and he looks taller by the day. Many of the others seemed too short in the seat. This one is awesome. I paid $100 for it. I probably could have gotten it cheaper online, but once I test drove it with DS in it, I had to have it that day. The handles are high enough for me. I'm 5'8" and noticed other strollers were too low. The Volo comes already put together in the box except for the canopy which simply slides and snaps into place! (The canopy provides much more coverage than others that I looked at.) So, as you can see, I am thrilled with my purchase. I used this site to help me decide. As always, the mommies here know their stuff! I knew that this stroller didn't have things like a super large basket, cup holders, recline etc. Sure those would be nice, but for me, the ease with which I can fold and unfold the stroller and the weight (9 lb)were key. I almost forgot to mention how amazingly it maneuvers! It turns on a dime and is a dream. One last thing is that I can hang my diaper bag on it with no problem. I am so glad to have gotten this stroller!

Pros:
Compact, sturdy and great quality
Cons:
The cost

If you are willing to spend a little extra, a volo is the way to go. I only wish the wheels were capable of handling uneven surfaces.

Pros:
Light, Compact, Carry Strap, Easy to fold
Cons:
canopy gets stained when folded (wheels rub on it)

Great umbrella stroller. My best friend almost had her child flip in one of those cheapy umbrella stroller. It is worth spending $100 for this. It can hold up to 55lbs and it is very sturdy. Yet it is easy to maneuver. The handles are at confortable height for an adult. This is a great travel stroller.
After looking at various places online, we ended just picking ours up at a Target store for $99.99.

Pros:
Light-Weight, Carry Strap, One Hand Fold
Cons:
Small Basket

I was in the market for an umbrella stroller and spent about an hour trying out different kinds at Buy Buy Baby. I first considered a different stroller (the Combi) than the Volo, mainly because I thought the Combi looked more comfortable than the Volo. This is until I put my son in the Volo and he really seemed to like it (he's 5.5 months). When I spoke to the salesperson, she mentioned that the Volo had the following advantages:
1. It is light weight
2. It has a shoulder strap to carry it
3. You can easily fold it with one hand, carrying baby in the other arm
4. You can adjust the sun shade down to protect baby when the sun is at a low angleI really liked the way it handled as well as all the advantages mentioned above. Unfortunately, they didn't have the color I wanted in the store, so I looked it up online and found it cheaper at babydealz.com (for $84). I bought it and the accessory pack which includes padding for the chair as well as a rain cover. I like the padding especially since my son is still small and because it is now colder, giving him a bit more protection. However, I like the fabric without the padding for Summer (my son always got too hot in the infant car seat in Summer). I like the small wheels as you can fit almost anywhere with this stroller, whereas I always seemed to bump into things with the larger stroller I have (part of a travel system).I had considered the Triumph, but it was a bit more expensive than the price of the Volo and accessory pack. And I didn't like the color combinations as much. The only downside I can see is that the straps are still too big for my son, but I'm sure he'll grow into them soon. The bag underneath is relatively small, but it is an umbrella stroller after all.

Pros:
Light, well made, nice sunshade (on 2005), tall handles
Cons:
Tippy, no legrest
|
|
I debated a lightweight stroller for months, before buying the 2005 Volo for my 15 month old. My husband and I love it, it is so lightweight, well made, easy to fold and carry, and my son likes to ride in it. We have a full featured Zooper stroller but this is exactly what we need at this age.I would like it a little better if it had some kind of legrest, mostly because my son isn't quite tall enough for his legs to hang over the seat properly. You can hang a small bag or two from the handles while the child is seated but the stroller isn't heavy enough to support anything when the child is out. This is a great super lightweight stroller for taller people. My husband (6'4") likes it better than anything else we have tried. We don't need a recline, so this stroller is perfect for our needs right now.
