A great mall stroller, June 11, 2005

Pros: Love the fold, storage basket, and handling
Cons: Would like a more upright seat and larger canopy

The Inglesina Espresso is my second stroller and I really love it! It stays in my car and is a great stroller to have for out-and-about and at the mall.

The handle can be rotated up or down to accomodate a range of "driver" heights and it can also be rotated toward the body of the stroller to get it out of the way when the Espresso is folded. The stroller's one-handed fold is pretty easy. I'm still getting the hang of it, but I can easily fold or unfold the stroller while holding my daughter.

The storage basket is a great size. I can fit my somewhat large diaper bag in the basket and still have room for more. The basket can be easily accessed from the rear. You can also get to the basket from the front, but the opening to the basket is much smaller. I tuck my purse in the front of the basket and can easily pull it out from the front of the stroller. The basket sticks out in back a little more than the stroller seat does, so you can fit something fairly tall in the back of the basket.

The Espresso comes with a rain cover and a removable boot. I haven't used either but must say that the boot is absolutely adorable! I can't wait until it's cold enough to justify its use! The rain cover can be stored in a mesh pouch on the back of the stroller seat.

It's very easy to steer the Espresso. It maneuvers well and can fit in pretty tight spots. The wheels are fairly large and it handles well outside or in. It also handles well when the storage basket is full. I don't notice the extra weight at all when I load up the basket.

The canopy on the Espresso isn't great. I wouldn't use it for long periods of time outside in the summer on sunny days without an add-on sunshade of some sort. Actually, I try to avoid using it outside when it's sunny because the canopy doesn't block that much sun and my daughter won't keep sunglasses on.

I wish that the seat could be put into a more upright position. My daughter tends to slouch down so that her body is actually resting against the crotch part of the harness. She slouches in her other stroller, too, though. I think that it will be better when she's tall enough for her feet to reach the footrest. Also, the seat recline is changed using a string mechanism on the back of the stroller. It seems like the laces could wear down if you spend a lot of time adjusting the seat. I don't change the seat recline too much, so I don't think it will present a problem for me.

The Espresso fits well in the trunk of my Camry and I don't mind just leaving it there. It stays on one side of the trunk and I have plenty of room on the other. It's pretty easy to get in and out of the trunk, too.

Not as good as I thought, June 22, 2006

Pros: looks good, rolls good, adjustable handles
Cons: poor customer service, no cup holders for parents

I had a metro-lite-from Graco for my first child. I thought this would be some huge upgrade, and I lost features- first of all you have to take everything out of the basket for it to fold. Second, it is not that lighter or smaller than my graco. I thought the no cup holder thing would be no big deal- but it has turned out to be a pain. I really like to have access to my water. plus i just need a pocket to stick small things in- and this does not have that - supposedly the 2006 model does- which that is what i thought I was buying from Amazon- but aparently they are not selling them until they get rid of their 2005 models - which are half off at $100 right now. (june 2006) not sure what i would do = if I could do it over- 1. i would get the 2006 model- but I may have saved my self the $100 and gotten another graco. (sold the first one at a garage sale- thinking I was getting a nicer stroller!)
