Pros: One-handed fold. Stores easily in the house.
Cons: Squeak-squeak-squeak-squeak!

My husband and I take our 4-month-old daughter to the nearby college campus every eveing for a stroll, so we do the fold, pack, unload, unfold routine A LOT. So far, our 2005 Zippy has held up quite well, and we just noticed the little handle on one side that makes it tons easier to get in and out of the back of the car.

For some reason, people in my neighborhood leave their strollers out on the front porch. Well, I wasn't about to pay $289 for ANYTHING and leave it on my front porch, so I am glad that the Zippy can stand upright when folded. I can just scooch it into a corner and it's out of the way. I love the harness (it's easy to use). I've only used the rain hood once, but it worked well and even folded up neatly to fit back in it's carrying bag. I haven't had any trouble with the bonnet, even with the seat in full recline. In fact, I liked that I could swing the bonnet all the way forward to protect little one from too much sun in the early days. The little window on the back is convenient for checking how much sun she's getting, too.

The kid seems to like it, too. She enjoys looking at the pattern on the side of her seat and propping her little feet up on the safety bar. And she complains the least about getting strapped in to the stroller (as opposed to the car seat, the bouncy seat, the swing, the high chair, etc.).

My minor complaints:

I mentioned we drive over to the campus for our strolls. Part of the reason for this is safety--we don't like crossing busy streets near our house. The other part is that I wonder if the Zippy can stand up to the cracked and bumpy sidewalks (and sometimes cracked, bumpy, debris-strewn streets) of our neighborhood. I want this stroller to last, and I love most everything about it, so I'm a bit protective of taking it over anything but the smooth, well-maintained sidewalks of the college. Not really a complaint, but just a feeling.

Yes, the basket is wee. I like to think of it as a gentle reminder to keep me from going on any marathon shopping excursions where I would need the extra room. We use the Skip Hop Duo diaper bag, which fits nicely on the handles.

I use the cup holder for a small water bottle, but I wish it could be just a smidge wider to accomodate a large cup from Sonic. I can cram one in there, but would have to stop the stroller to get it out and take a drink. Perhaps it's another feature to remind me to drink water instead of soda-pop?

I kicked the wheels a bit when I first started walking with it, but I can adjust my stride comfortably to avoid that.

The worst things I can complain about are the squeaky wheels, which are easily fixed by popping them off and applying a bit of WD-40. It's just a nuisance when a squeak develops during a stroll, and continues on until we can get home.

Overall, we love our Zippy, and we hope it lasts and lasts!

Pros: Open/Close, Weight, Basket, PUSHABILITY
Cons: nothing--that the buggers didn't make a twin zippy

We paid 270 or so through arunningstroller.com 2 years ago. I love this stroller. It is so easy to open and close, I can do it with a baby strapped onmy hip and throw it in the car. The storage space is perfect (even for a big petunia diaper bag). I love the handles. It has a full recline which is nice. The colors are good. I don't have any complaints, I LOVE this stroller. We considered several Pegs and the Maclaren XT and I'm grateful we took a leap of faith and ordered this one (mostly unseen). WAIT--I do! Inglesina should've made a twin ZIPPY, that is my complaint and a different story

Pros: folds up super easy
Cons: tiny basket underneath

Overall, I love this item, but I wish I had done even more research - I probably would have tried to get one of those click n' gos to put the carseat on, and then one of the fancy umbrealla strollers for about $100... but as I write that, I realize the other things I love about my Zippy: DD outgrew her infant carseat at 4 months, so I was able to let her sit in the Zippy which was plushly padded and can recline if she was sleepy (which the umbrella strollers won't let you do). Now taht she's 12 months, I think it's a little big and bulky, since we don't really need those features as much. :) The negatives: 1) the basket underneath is tiny and hard to get to, 2) no tray, which DD would probably like for her Cheerios, 3) difficult to push one handed (which happens whenever I need to carry DD), 4) folding up one handed isn't very useful if I cannot lift the stroller into my car onehanded. But I still ike it: 1) it's very plush for DD's comfort, 2) folds up easily, 3) folds up very small (easy to fit into my trunk), 4) stands up on it's own in my garage. Overall, I guess I'd buy it again...

Pros: Gotta love the fold. Stands up on its own when stored.
Cons: No cupholder. Styling could be improved.

Don't get me wrong. I still think I bought the right stroller. I live in the city, in a third-floor walkup, so I needed a stroller that could go anywhere and fold up in a snap. One very important consideration for us: our stroller needed to be stored in a communal hallway and thus fold easily and compactly and stay upright when folded. This was the only stroller that met that description. The one-hand fold is a thing of joy.

We bought the 2005 model for about $275. I feel the new 2005 1/2 model addresses some of the shortcomings of the model we have: it has a cupholder (even aftermarket cupholders do not fit onto our stroller) and apparently the braking/locking mechanism is different. It also would have been neat to have the new toddler bar in back.

I have never kicked the wheels when walking. After reading about this issue, I asked my husband about it, and he said he does kick the back tired sometimes. But he's never complained about it. I find this stroller a bit difficult to steer one-handed, though.

I think this is a really great urban stroller. Unlike the Peg, it does not tie you to one particular brand of carseat. It has a fold superior to any other on the market. It has a comparatively large sun shade. It's more practical than beautiful, though.

Love, love, love it!, June 10, 2005

Pros: The one handed open and close has been a life saver!
Cons: Storage compartment leaves a bit to be desired.

This stroller is fantastic! I have been very pleased with most every aspect of this stoller ... it turns well, it is light weight, extremely easy to open and close (one handed!) and the canpoy is huge!

The only reason that I did not give the stoller an A+ are there are a couple of things that aren't perfect ...

1 - The storage area under the stroller is not great - not bad - but not great. It is not very sturdy and it does not hold a lot.

2 - While the stroller has a "univeral" adapter for an infant car seat ... what that really means is that it has 2 belts that can be used to strap in an infant car seat. We decided not to bother. It was not very convenient.

3- There is no cup holder or snack tray. While this has not been an issue so far since our son is only 10 months old, it could be an issue in the future.

Overall, it is great though and I would buy it again in a heart beat!
