Pros:
Liteweight,rubbercoated wheels,big basket,adjustable handle
Cons:
folding mechanism starts locking up
|
|
I have a 2004 model in the Shelton pattern and I paid $100 at BRU. It has been a wonderful stroller until the button used to close it started locking up. I have to struggle with that little button to close my stroller. Graco sent me a new parent tray which contains the folding mechanism but I was upset that it didn't hold up better for only 7 months of use. Also, the handle is adjustable but has loosened and there is no way to tighten it. I was hoping to use this stroller for at least 2 years but it is not going to hold up that long. Quality is not that good. Graco strollers are not as good as their carseats.

Pros:
Holds baby carrier safely, lightweight
Cons:
Difficult to access basket
|
|
I bought this stroller because the manager at BRU recommended it, and because I could lift it in and out of the car. I love that its lightweight and that it is so easy to pop the baby carrier in and out. That said, I'm pretty disappointed with the stroller. It doesn't have a strong brake system, one strong burst of wind on a hill, and you may be running downhill after the lightweight stroller. The one-handed release, while convenient, tends to stick in a few places; usually, requiring 2 hands. The seat does not recline all the way, so napping was harder for my son. My biggest gripe is that to access the basket, which is large enough to hold a DIA diaper bag and a shopping bag, you need to take the carrier out and pull the seat out of recline. This is probably the most inconvenient part of the stroller. I'm sorry, but I can't recommend this stroller.

Pros:
Affordable, lightweight, large basket
Cons:
No frills, basic padding
|
|
I bought this despite the cautions in the Baby Bargains book and I've been surprisingly satisfied. We used the infant seat for several months and it was fine, no complaints. I didn't want to spend a lot on a stroller before having the baby and realizing my "true stroller needs/lifestyle" so I figured even if the stroller lasted a year till I got a better one, I'd have gotten a deal. Well, it's lasted more than a year as my ONLY stroller and been fine. Turns out, I'm not a big stroller user, and this one does just fine to get us around the neighborhood and through stores. It's lightweight and fits in the car trunk just fine. So far, nothing has broken on the stroller and it's a relatively smooth ride. I'm glad I didn't spend more! However, if we used the stroller more frequently, I'd probably wish for something more padded. The parent cup holder and basket have been convenient, although when I used the infant seat in the stroller, I couldn't access the basket (I think this has been redesigned).

Pros:
Size, compatible with carseat, maneuvers well
Cons:
Mosquito net on canopy
|
|
I am completely satisfied with the Metrolite stroller. We paid $130 and have the Emerson pattern. Although I remember reading a recommendation in Baby Bargains against getting a travel system , personally I'm really glad we got a stroller that we can use with our Graco SafeSeat. (We bought them separately, though, not as a system.) This stroller is much more compact and lightweight than the Graco "touring" strollers. I have found it very easy to use. It maneuvers well. (Make sure to read the instructions about locking and unlocking the front wheels - if they are locked, you won't be happy with how it turns!) The Metrolite packs all the necessary features into a reasonably sized stroller - canopy, cup holders, adjustable handle, reclining seat, big basket underneath. Fits in my trunk just fine. It has held up just fine so far and seems very durable to me. And, now that my son is 3 months, I can use the stroller both with the carseat or by itself. The only thing I don't like is that the canopy has a "mosquito net" that hangs down in front of the baby and I can't manage to keep it tucked out of the way. I don't use the canopy much right now, but when summer rolls around I'll have to find a creative way to tack back that darn mosquito net! Also, the canopy doesn't remove easily, although it can be removed. All in all, I am very happy with this stroller.

Pros:
Price, lightweight
Cons:
Flimsy, need 2 hands to fold it.
|
|
I've had this stroller for about 10 mos, and it was fine initially, but the older my child gets, the more we use the stroller, and the less impressed I am with it. It's flimsy, has a bumpy ride, and hard to fold - you need 2 hands to fold it.
I'm not a big fan anymore, and I think I'll be shopping for a new stroller.
