Pros: Love thats it cute and PINK!!!!!
Cons: 2 part fold but it's pretty simple to do

This stroller is Gorgeous and I dont know why I didnt buy it sooner. I love that its pink and when I get tired of that color all I have to do is buy a new cover. I'm not too bothered by the price I've got purses for more than that and I never liked them as much as I do this stroller

Fully loaded and well thought out stroller, May 18, 2008

Pros: Features, design, sturdiness of both fabric and chassis, love the color combos
Cons: price and accesories are overpriced; can't really fly with it

I am hoping readers will learn from my mistakes in this review-I researched lots of strollers, selected the cameleon and then sold it thinking that it was too much stroller for what I needed and the 2 part fold was too much of a pain. Well, a mclaren volo, bob jog stroller and bugaboo bee later I bought a cameleon again when I found it on sale and got the denim style with 2008 tires (foam filled big back tires that don't go flat) and a footmuff all inclusive for $785. Our lifestyle is a big part of why the Cam works out great. We live in the Bay Area up on a hill. When DD came, I used the bassinet in the house and popped the car seat on the stroller chassis for errands. I thought, I just spent $700 on a snap and go so I sold it, and got a bee. I'll review the bee separately but in summary it's not a Cameleon or a Frog.

First, you will likely need more than one stroller. There is no one size fits all. Most people I know have a fleet of 2-4 strollers. Second, everyone talks about the 2 part fold being a con. I can do this in 2 minutes tops. It's not heavy and not a big deal, but I come from the perspective of having a 14 month old and after trying out a number of these rigs, I found that it's not such a hassle after all. In the first few months after having a baby it IS a pain to deal with the 2 part fold (and if you are using a car seat option you really don't escape the 2 part fold with any brand) but there are much more annoying things out there later, like trying to get a wiggly older infant into a narrow stroller with a difficult harness. DD hates getting in the smaller bee and volo. It is way easier to strap her into the Cameleon and she is also more comfortable in it. The footmuff is a nice touch because our weather changes alot around here and we don't have to worry about her tossing a blanket around, though JJ Cole makes similar products cheaper.

So why did I go back to the Cameleon? The large tires are great for variable terrain like we have, she sleeps really well in it anywhere, anytime and the seat is wider and longer. The quality is really good on the stroller and the materials are durable and look great. It handles very well and easily. I recommend staying away from the fleece for the hood and opt for the new dernier canvas or denim because the fleece is a dirt magnet. Overall, it's a well thought out stroller. I use my volo for travel and the Bee (b/c I can recline it) when I don't want people staring at me at the mall, as they often do when they see a cameleon even though where I live lots of people own these types of strollers. Also the Cam is too wide for smaller stores. But for walking around the neighborhood, going on trails, going to the beach or simply going out when I know DD will need to nap I will use the Cameleon and as it turns out I use that stroller more than any others. The BOB is another well designed, excellent quality stroller but is it a tank and we don't have the revolution (DH's mistake) plus it does not recline. Although it folds compactly in one piece it still takes up substantial space in the back of your car. The volo was a gift and it is worthwhile having it thanks to its simplicity but younger babies can't use it and it is flimsy for the type of area I live in, though for the 2nd stroller I highly recommend having it.

I have no buyer's remorse over the 2nd Cameleon now that I know what else is out there. It really meets our needs given our lifestyle and my biggest regret is that I didn't see this the 1st time. I could have stuck to the Cam and the volo, and we could have opted for a lower end jog stroller instead of going down the path we did. It's confusing so good luck in your search.

Worth it's weight in gold., August 6, 2007

Pros: Very easy to steer w/ single hand.
Cons: none

The Cameleon was one of many gifts from my generous parents so I did not have to pay for it. That being said, I would have as it is worth its weight in gold. I live in Manhattan and Bugaboo's are quite popular as they are very easy to maneuver in the city's uneven pavement. The stroller is very sturdy and the large wheels in back make it very easy to go up and down steps in the small shops of NYC that do not have ramps.

Since I walk a lot with the little one, it's also got great one hand steering, especially when you have to walk and answer a cell phone call.

The basinet is lovely and so is the chair with it's multiple positions. The basket is very spacious and sturdy and holds a good amount of groceries which is useful in a big city. The cameleon's custom coded color system is also a nice touch and allows some individuality.

All in all, a great stroller for the city. I can see how someone who had to cart it around in a car may not be fond of taking it apart and putting it together. For those people I would recommend the Bee which also steers very well but pops into a car more easily.

Fantastic, versatile, well-designed stroller, March 20, 2006

Pros: the design, handling, comfort for baby, rugged-ness
Cons: two part disassembly

Our DD's grandparents bought this stroller for us and we have LOVED every minute of it. We walk around town a lot and the wheels are wonderful for both grassy and paved terrain. The stroller handles beautifully and turns on a dime. We have had no trouble navigating small aisles in malls to the ups and downs of curbs in our downtown city. In fact, I think we have an easier time than other families with those bulky "travel-system" type strollers.

My husband and I are very different heights, and we love the adjustable hand-height - he NEVER has to lean over (and he has back problems, so leaning over would be way too uncomfortable for him).

Our DD finds the stroller very comfortable and regularly falls asleep in it for long periods. We have traveled with the stroller many times using the Bugaboo travel case, and it has always been very well-protected, although once the airline security people broke the zipper on the bag (which I have had happen even with my Samsonite luggage from time to time with the rough airline security people). The Cameleon has always been untouched.

Carrying this stroller around in the carry bag can be bulky, but we have very much enjoyed the benefits of the stroller in our travels and at home with the bulk being the main disadvantage. I have an SUV, so loading the stroller disassembled into the back is easy, and reassembling it is easy as well and I don't have to bend over (since the back of the car is elevated).

We also love the great sunshade and rain cover, and the fact that the stroller handle can flip around easily to have our DD facing us or facing away easily.

What a rock'n stroller!!!, August 3, 2007

Pros: Ride, comfort, design, color choices
Cons: Brake handle can snap back at your hand

This stroller rocks. I didn't expect to see a difference in my son... thought we spent all that money for ourselves... WRONG! Our son is much more engaged in what's going on, where we are walking, who's pushing him, etc. He's a happy baby, who now seems to look forward to rides in the stroller. Functions well, compact fairly well. Ride is SUPERIOR! When disenaging the brake, the brake handle snaps back at the handlebar and can catch your hand if you're not aware. Cost is relative and definitely worth it to us and our son. Some reviews say it's good mostly in urban environments... I say if you have a decent amount of stroller usage regardless of where... this stroller excels.
