Cons:

This is for the Fisherprice Healthy Care Deluxe, paid $80 on sale Summer '05.This highchair is comfortable for my baby, but if we aren't very careful putting the tray on, she can now kick it off at 9 months old. My biggest complaint is that the cover doesn't extend all the way over the arms and food gets under the seat. The ruffles on the outside edge are also mostly just food collectors and aren't really necessary. We don't use the extra trays very often b/c the baby is so messy that we end up washing all of it anyway every time. Honestly I would have preferred less froof and more practicality in terms of ability to keep it clean.

Pros:
Great removeable trays and easy clean seat, not ugly
Cons:
Crevices in seat collects crumbs, velcro wouldn't stay on

This has been a great chair for us! We purchased it in 2003, and it has been in constant use since early 2004. The only complaint I have is that the sticky velcro which holds the seat cover onto the plastic seat base itself would not stick on the plastic. We live in a very humid climate, and that probably contributed. The seat cover still stays in place, just not as securely as it would with the velcro.

Cons:

This highchair was a shower gift. I really hesitated to register for it because of its looks, but I'm glad I did. It's not so bad next to the exersaucer and jumeroo. Our baby LOVES this high chair. He has enjoyed sitting in it from day one. Only complaint is we have to store it in a closet and it is hard to make it stay folded, the legs automatically swing open unless you are holding them. Makes husbands mad. Small nuisance for a great high chair. Make sure you have an hour to assemble it.

2005 Aquarium Healthy Care High Chair, gifted off our Babies R Us registry, price $99.99 (note: Fisher Price suggested retail price $90, via its website). We have been using our high chair for just over one month now and have been very impressed with its construction, function and design. We registered for the chair based upon others' recommendations, neglecting to inspect one beforehand, and I am happy to say we have no regrets. In fact, we were very pleasantly surprised by the chair's high quality, and so far have no serious complaints that detract from the chair's ease of use.I was most pleased to note that the chair feels very solid and sturdy. The seat padding is more generous that what was expected, and I believe our 6-month-old baby is comfortable and well supported in the seat, not only by the harness, which feels strong, but the pummel on the seat base as well. That, and the reclining seat back, comforted this first-time mother who had no real idea at what age a baby was supposed to start using a high chair. (Even if not fully reclined, I believe this chair does a great job of supporting younger infants.) I have no fear of her coming out of the seat now, nor as she ages. Of particular benefit to us so far has been the mechanisms on the reclining seat back and tray releases ... both are truly one-handed operations which are used daily. We also adore the mobility of the chair .... our daughter gets wheeled around the kitchen (and elsewhere) in order for her to be close by and give her the opportunity to observe what we are doing. Every so often she gets to "race" around the island, which is what she adores. The wheels roll smoothly and the chair feels sturdy in motion. Two notes about the wheels: I have noticed they have a tendency to accidently lock, simply by brushing one's foot up against them, which happens often just by walking past. Also, I have had difficulty unlocking them with the toe of my shoe, causing me to have to bend down to unlock them by hand. Since we move her about very frequently in the chair, this causes a bit of frustration, but in the scheme of things, very little. I imagine in the future I might even like this as she starts trying to move about in the chair with more power. The vinyl coated fabric is a breeze to clean with the wipe of a damp cloth, and we like the look of the aquarium pattern, ruffle included. Our daughter immediately took to the chair and has been quite engaged by the two teether toys that are attached to the base tray (and therefore never touch the floor!) and the musical tray toy, which pops and locks into the base tray. She has just learned this week that she can make the music play by rolling the rod on the tray toy, so she's attacking it with gusto and thus kept occupied during meal prep. I do have a few observations on how this two-tray system and musical tray toy work together. The musical tray toy snaps only into the base tray, not the top divided food tray (which itself also snaps onto the base tray). In order to safely use the tray toy, that top divided food tray must be removed and set aside somewhere. A small thing, but it could be a hassle for people with limited space. Looking on the positive side, since the top tray is not required to be on the base tray in order for the toy to snap in, the baby can play with the toy while the top tray is elsewhere having food placed upon it. Related to that, when storing all these components when the chair is not in use, if one has the two trays snapped together, the toy does not "nest" completely into the top tray. It can just be set on top of it, and thus it could get knocked off. Once again, not a big deal, but I just thought I would point out that storage is not completely self-contained. Because we do not need the divided food tray at this time, we have stored it in a closet. One last comment, to remove the base tray with one hand can be a bit cumbersome if the tray toy is snapped into it. You just have to be aware that its a bit heavier, move slowly, and have a designated place to gently set it down. (Or I could just be a weakling, most likely!)Despite all that, it is still a fabulous high chair and is the most effective and easy to use item of baby gear we own. We are purchasing a second one for a grandparent's home.
