My husband and I shopped around prior to making the decision to go with MHC for our baby’s furniture and are so happy with our choice!! We purchased a crib (and converter set), dresser/change table and bookshelf from the MHC Tuscany collection and are thrilled! We were so impressed with MHC’s level of customer service, product quality, as well as choice of styles and stains. The furniture was delivered in a timely manner and looks great. We have received so many compliments already!!

Pros:
nicely made furniture
Cons:
it has not arrived after 15 weeks!
|
|
My husband and I spent a lot of time looking at cribs, searching for the perfect one. I had heard MHC was a good company and we liked the cribs we saw at Buy Buy Baby. Since we had a 20% coupon from the store, we chose MHC even though it was a bit pricier than other models.
It has been 15 weeks, I am about to have the baby and still no furniture! The company has said the wood did not come from Europe, then the truck that was supposed to deliver to Manhattan has not arrived, etc.
I am hoping this furniture looks good and is well made for all the trouble we have had to get it (and we still do not have it!).

Pros:
Quality, Safe, Made in North America, Customer Service
Cons:
I have no complaints

I purchased the Enchantment Series about 7 months ago. I bought a double dresser, crib and night stand at Buy Buy Baby in Garden city. The staff talked very highly of the product. My order arrived in about 8 week and was delivered the next week. I read the BB and was concerned with the lead time so I called MHC directly and talked to Helen and she told me that I should place the order through one of three different retailers in my area. She said they are having problems with some retailers but would not specify and are holding shipments but good retailers are getting the product in about 8 weeks.. I like the quality of the furniture. They have four sided dove tailed drawer boxes and a very nice finish. My husband was alos impressed with the construction of the furniture. I am very concerned about putting products in my home becuase of the lead paint scares from China. I called Helen today again and asked about their products. She told me that all of their furniture is made in Canada with Canadian made paints and wood and I had nothing to worry about.. Overall, I am very happy with my purchase and have no complaints I would not hesitate to purchase MHC again and if you have any questions call Helen.

Pros:
After shopping around we went with MHC for the quality of their construction, the lead free finishes
Cons:
The drawers are slightly shallow in the model we chose, we wanted a crib drawer but wasn't available
|
|
After shopping around thoroughly we decided to order MHC's Rock-a-Bye series. The only other comparable quality construction that we considered was Stanley Young America but this was quite a bit more expensive, plus the MCH set was edgier in Antique Black. We received the furniture earlier than promised and are very satsified. The furniture is definitely solidly made and the finish we ordered looks terrific in our nursery, and it went together very easily. I like the fact that the hardware is well concealed and that it is very safe but also absolutely beautiful. We will also be able to use this furniture in another bedroom if our son decides he wants something different (like a race-car bed) because it is sophisticated and versatile. Even my father who is extremely hard to please could not find anything to complain about and had to approve both the appearance and the quality of this furniture. The only reason that I am not rating it a "10" is that we wanted some accessory pieces that were not available; a changing table station/topper for the dresser, a hutch/bookshelf for the other dresser, and a crib drawer. I also think that some of the sides and back may not be solid hardwood but it is well made and I cannot verify this so consider it negligible. Overall we could not be happier with it!

Pros:
Very nicely designed conversion and crib sets
Cons:
Expensive, owner's wife
|
|
My wife, my mother and I walked into their factory store in Wixom, MI. The owner's wife walked over (I found out it was the owner's wife through a conversation they had in front of us) and immediately directed us towards their most expensive set. I tried to ignore the fact that her shirt was unbuttoned so far that both cups of her bra were showing. Had she been 25 years old I wouldn't have complained, but she hadn't seen 25 in at least 30 years. She showed us that set after giving us a sermon on how awful Chinese and Indian contracted sets are and how being made in Canada makes theirs the best available. Then she showed us the second set. It was a black conversion set loaded with baby boy accents. I looked at it (we're having a girl) and said to her "I don't know, this looks a little too much like a boy's set." She gives me this horrible look and said "No way - put some pink with this and then it's for girls - WRONG!" I don't know about you, but I don't really appreciate someone telling me I'm wrong like that right off the bat. Especially when obviously they thought to make it a boy's model. If you can put up with behavior like that, more power to you, but I walked out of the store. Honestly though, they do have really cool stuff. I'm in my early 30's and their stuff is very current.
