Pros:
Cheap, simple design
Cons:
Bad design and worse customer service
|
|
We purchased the Sorelle Lana crib that had the wood slats - the problem was in the metal supports that attached the slats to the crib frame. After spending two hours and scratching up the crib (causing much frustration and tears by an 8 months pregnant mom!), we found out that the store no longer sold this crib because of this problem! Luckily, the store did the right thing and took the crib away, although Sorelle claimed that it wasn't a defect, but rather that US customers didn't like the design. Huh - of course US customers prefer something that works! Sorelle may have gone back to the metal springs, but my experience with their customer service enraged me and makes me suspicious of any of their products.

Pros:
The price is right for the look - a beautiful (natural) crib
Cons:
The side rail is NOISY, hard to put up
|
|
The crib is beautiful for the $219 we paid for it, so I was very excited when I bought the crib and had it set up in the nursery. (We also bought the Sorelle Roma changing table which matches this crib very well, also in natural.) However, once our baby came and we had put him to sleep in the crib, putting up the side rail would usually wake him up. (And I am short so I need it DOWN to put him in.)Then, we moved when our son turned 9 months, so we had to disassemble the crib and put it back together. After that, it really takes A LOT of effort to push the side bar in and pull it up. It's horrible. I hate this crib now and cannot even imagine using it for another child.Spend the money for a better crib, with a better side rail. IT IS WORTH IT!!!

Pros:
Simple, elegant crib for little $$
Cons:
Packaging and manufacturing issues
|
|
We purchased a Rita Bella crib about a month ago from a local baby goods store. Note that this was an unopened crib box...We started to assemble the crib soon after purchase; however, we were missing more than half of the assembly hardware - dowels, screws, wing nuts, etc. The store we purchased the crib from took care of the issue rather quickly (but after a few phone calls from me) by ordering new hardware from Sorelle. We were told that Sorelle was to deliver the hardware via FedEx directly to us within 5-7 business days. As it turns out, Sorelle delivered the hardware to the store and the store mailed hte hardware to us priority mail. So, once we got the hardware, we encountered another assembly issue. The slots for the drawer bottoms are completely misaligned, so the pressboard drawer bottoms can be put into place at all. We called the store asking how they were to resolve this issue - the warranty manager said a new drawer was being ordered for us. We're still waiting for the drawer (ordered less than one week ago) from the store.Other than these annoying issues, the rest of the crib went together fine and looks good.

Pros:
Simple to assemble. Price, Looks & Style
Cons:
None, I really had no problems at all.

Got this crib from Buy Buy Baby. Paid $219.00. This was the 2nd Sorelle C&T Crib I purchased. The first one I used years ago was given to a family member and now they are using it for their third child (Not bad). Now years later....oops. So I bought another Sorelle Crib due to my past experience. I find the Rita Crib has plenty of style. The cost, simplicity and reviews are all great. Hey it even has a drawer for clothes and converts to a daybed when I'm done. I did get the metal spring supports and It works just fine. I might even sleep in it while my baby sleep with the wife... Overall, I am very happy I would suggest this crib to everyone.

Pros:
Attractive Crib, Hidden Parts
Cons:
Screws strip, difficult to assemble, poor C&T cust. service
|
|
We purchased a Hellen crib in 2003. The assembly was a little difficult. We moved and the crib was even more difficult to assemble, we noticed that the screws had been stripped. After calling C&T it took 2 weeks for the parts to arrive. We moved once again and attempted to call C&T. It took several calls to their new location in Rutherford, NJ and many e-mails went unanswered. After my husband called 3 times, he was able to speak to the parts representative who was extremely rude. My suggestion is that if you want a crib to last you more than one child - look somewhere else, unless you plan on leaving the crib up in the same room for all children.
