Cannot lower mattress to lowest position!!!!!, February 6, 2007

Pros: Crib is pretty; drawer below is useful
Cons: Cannot lower mattress to lowest (safest) position

My husband and I bought the Sorelle Rosa crib shortly before my daughter was born. We assembled it without much difficulty, and were pretty happy with the crib. We bought it at a local furniture store for $250. Well, my daughter is now 8 months old, and we attempted to lower the mattress to the lowest position. Well, it cannot be done!!! The bars that hold the mattress support in position cannot be lined up correctly. Therefore, we would have to drill new holes into the crib to have the supports line up. No way!!! We are currently waiting for the store we purchased it from to come evaluate the situation. In the meantime, we are looking for a new crib. We were able to lower the mattress to the middle position, but it is still too high for my comfort. Poor design!!!!!!!

Pros: Very sturdy design and construction - beautiful crib!
Cons: None!

We bought the Rita Bella crib and changing table from USA Baby in Dec 2003. Paid $229 for crib and $129 for table. Both arrived in March 2004. DH and I put crib together in about an hour, but I do remember the side that raises/lowers being tricky to get into place. However, we have had no problems with it since. I put changing table together myself. DS was in crib for 2+ years and it looks the same as the day we put it together and we've not had to tighten any pieces on the crib. Have had no reason to deal with customer service - all pieces were in the box. DS #2 will be using the crib once he arrives in May and I have no doubts it will be just as strong and study thru this child as well. The mattress support is metal design, and it can be a challenge to raise/lower the mattress support, but since it's done so infrequently, it doesn't bother me in the least. When side is lowered, it blocks the bottom drawer, which I find to be a good thing since then DS couldn't empty it while playing! Would recommend this crib to anyone looking for a sturdy design that doesn't break the bank.

Pros: Seems to be made of nice wood
Cons: Too many defects! Shotty Work. Bad quality!

Where to start? From the time I ordered to Sorelle to months later, issue after issue consistantly came up! Delays in getting in pieces to just shotty work. It has been months and we still can not get anything resolved.

My biggest complaint is just the overally shotty and lazy work that go into their products. Several of their pieces were put together very poorly and had many defects. Any right-corners were put together poorly and all of the staining was not done well.

I would say their customer support was bad, but since it is non-exsistant (and rude when you do get through) I will use the word "pathetic" instead. (read other reviews if you don't believe me)

As a warning, many big companies (such as Buy Buy Baby) will sell this furnature even though they know that Sorelle as such a bad track record. Stay away from Sorelle at all costs if you want to avoid headache and frustration.

Pros: Sturdy, beautiful finish and substansial looking crib
Cons: Can't fit a teething guard on the railing

We have been very pleased with our Sorelle Madison crib. It's beautiful and well made. When it arrived, we were shocked at it's heaviness and weight. It seemed to be a lot more substansial than the one we saw in the showroom. We have not had any issues with it at all. It was easy to lower the height of the mattress. My only complaint is that a teething guard won't fit on the front rail, and my little one has chewed it to bits in spots. Since that's going to be his footboard, it's kind of a shame that it's ruined. We paid $499 for the crib.

Pros: the beautiful design
Cons: noisy dropside

I bought the Sorelle Rosemary crib from a local baby store. for $379, including delivery, set up and an excellent big oshi foam & coil ventilated mattress. The crib is finished in white and looks great with my white pali dresser. My little guy is only 7 months so he hasn't been able to destroy it yet. That's why I gave it an A- because I don't know how it will hold up. The retailor told me that the quality is comparable to the Legacy line that I really wanted and I trust her. My recommendation-pay to have it set up and save yourseslf the aggravation. It didn't take the professional even an hour-he does it for a living.
