I bought the Classica 1 for between $100 and $110.This mattress is a good fit in the crib, is nice and firm and is easy to lift out for sheet changes. My daughter sleeps well on it.

This is an excellent mattress. It is easy to get in and out of my son's Legacy crib and yet it fits tightly. I paid about $110 for it.

Pros:
A firm mattress that fits well in the crib
Cons:
None-love this mattress

I bought several mattresses before settling on this one (I should have read Baby Bargains before heading out to the store). Our crib is a Simmons Highland, and, for some reason, our first mattress (Baby BeautyRest from BRU) left large gaps at the sides. I could fit my fist between the mattress and the crib!!! Our next mattress (Serta Perfect Sleeper also bought at BRU) fit better but it seemed way too soft. Finally, we bought a Colgate Classica mattress from Cardi's furniture for $89.99 (they sell it under another name that I don't recall). It fit very snug and our 5 mos. old sleeps soundly in it. I would recommend this mattress to any parent concerned about firmness and a good fit.

Pros:
A great mattress that is very light
Cons:
It may be too firm for baby's comfort
|
|
I bought the Colgate Classica I foam mattress "used" on ebay. The mattress arrived in great condition and is very light. It weighs about 7 lbs, which is nice when changing the crib sheet. It has a waterproof, vinyl shell, which will protect it from wet diapers and is easy to clean. I scrubbed it down with diluted bleach and then lots of soap and water and it seemed to take the harsh handling/scrubbing very well.It is very firm which is why it is rated so highly to prevent SIDS. I would have liked a mattress that was a little softer since this mattress may be too firm for baby's comfort (though, I suppose that would also increase the SIDS risk). My daughter doesn't seem to mind the firmness and so I recommend this mattress.
