Pros:
Affordable. Some nice fabric patterns available
Cons:
The fabric feels plasticy on some models.
|
|
This is a great carseat which provides a more affordable option for parents. The cons are that to my knowledge it does not fit into non_graco strollers, and because many people use Peg Peregos or other strollers, this might be an impportant consideration. Also, we had to search high and low for a fabric pattern we liked, most are rather cheesy. And even though we love the look ofours, it was still plasticky on feel.

Pros:
very light carrier
Cons:
hard to install base, hight limit too short
|
|
My son was a long baby. (96th percentile for hight) He out grew this seat at 3.5 months. It was a huge disapointment that I didn't get to use this seat very long. I bought is as part of a travel system for 139.95 at Toys-R-Us. Do not buy the travel system. The stroller sucks. I have never hardly used it. So when my son outgrew his carseat I was stuck with a crappy stroller. A complete waste of money. The base is extremely hard to install. I had to use three rolled up towels and struggle with it before I got the right angle. Then it never seemed tight enough. Overall, I would not recommend it at all.

Pros:
Portable, easy to install
Cons:
Straps don't always adjust evenly, canopy catches on handle
|
|
We have the 2005 model in Colby print, purchased for $90 at BRU. Installed one base in a Subaru wagon and another in a Honda Accord without any trouble. The level indicator in the base is really helpful for figuring out if you've got it installed properly. To be safe, we took both to a carseat safety inspection station and found that they were correctly installed. The seat itself is easy to use, and my son seems to be very comfortable in it. He slept in it frequently as a newborn. The included head-positioner worked well for him, though we've removed it now that he has good head control. Snapping the seat into the base is a breeze, and removing the seat from the base is easy as well.It is easy to loosen the straps, but sometimes they don't tighten evenly when I pull out on the adjuster strap. The handle works well though I haven't figured out the purpose of the two "in-between" positions- we only use the carry position or have it all the way back. The buttons for adjusting the handle were stiff at first but have grown easier to press. My only other complaint is that the canopy often catches on the handle and vice versa. In other words, when I move one, I usually end up inadvertently moving the other.

Pros:
Easy to install base with latch, can use with stroller
Cons:
fabric on canopy showed rain spots
|
|
I have a 2004 model in the Shelton pattern. I paid $90 at BRU. This seat is the easiest to install especially compared to Evenflo. I had no problems with getting a tight fit with the base using latch. It attaches easily to the base and into the matching Metrolite stroller. The weight & height limits were low at 20 lbs & 26 inches but the new snugrides have changed to 22 lbs & 29 inches. This fabric is black and when it rained the canopy had spots all over that did not fade after it dried. The seat fabric was fine and actually did well to hide spit up stains and held up well through washings.

Pros:
Great safety rating and soft cover
Cons:
hard to put hamock together and handle sticks
|
|
I got my snugride from baby's r us in the Windsor print. I love the fact that it all matched and clipped right into my stroller. The seat is Ok, it was good but very heavy after my baby started packing on the pounds. The problem I had is that handles didn't move very smoothly and I returned it twice. Come to find out that the models changed and the canopy didn't. They replaced it and the handle problem did too. I would recommend that you make sure that your infant seat goes up to 29 inches, in the Snugride 2.
