I recently bought a Maclaren Quest Mod to serve as our ligthweight travel/errand stroller for our toddler. I researched several other strollers including the Mac Triumph, Volo, Peg Aria, and Silver Cross Mini and Micro.I chose the Quest Mod because it offers 4 recline positions, an adjustable leg rest, free raincover, and more padding in the seat than similar strollers/models. My toddler is 34" tall and he seat can reach the rubber footrest, so he loves sitting in this stroller! I thought he'd miss the napper bar, but he seems very happy in the Quest.Pros...
1) Weight: this stroller is lightweight at 13.4 pounds, and it has a compact, umbrella fold which I can do easily with little bending over (and I'm pregnant too!)
2) Steering: is fantastic and works very well one-handed, even with my 28 lbs toddler inside.
3) Fabric: is padded and feels like a wipe-clean nylon, but not sticky or hot. The seat is removable for washing, although I haven't had need for this yet.
4) The wheels are small at 4" but are great for indoor use. I find that the Quest performs well on smooth sidewalks, but would have some problems on brick, cobblestone, or broken streets.
5) Peek-a-boo: the canopy offers a clear vinyl window, and I can easily see my baby while pushing the Quest.
6) Comfort handles: the handles are at a nice height for both my 6" husband and myself at 5'2", and they are foam padded for comfort.Cons...
1) When I place my fully-packed diaper bag on the handlebars, the Quest tips over if my child gets out. Not a big deal, just annoying when we stop at the food court, shoe store, bathroom, car, etc. I need to remember to remove my bag first, then take the baby out.
2) The mesh basket is on the smaller side and not accessible when the seat is reclined.
3) The canopy isn't terrible, but it certainly wouldn't provide enough coverage for a full day out in the sun. If you take this stroller to Disney, please, please, please buy your child an additional sunshade!Overall...
The Quest has been a wonderful purchase for us. Because of the adjustable leg rest and partial recline, I could see myself using this with a 5 month+ baby next time around, without hesitation. I love pushing it, I love how little space it takes in my car, and I love how light it is.Possible improvements...
I'd like the see Maclaren add some mesh to the Quest when the seat is reclined, for better ventilation. It would also be handy to place some color on the brakes, so they are easier to find. Throw in a visor flap on the canopy, and this stroller would be near perfection for me!
