Basic, affordable, if not very exciting stroller., June 10, 2005

Pros: Affordable, easily found & accomodates an infant carseat
Cons: Not very exciting and very basic.

We purchased this stroller from Babies R Us before my son was born. I knew next to nothing about strollers, which I now regret. I didn't know how many other choices and options there were out there and I wish I'd known more. I may have made a different decision if I had. That said, the Graco Metrolite has served us well in spite of the fact that so many dislike it. We've not had any problems with the product. It's been in use for 2 yrs and is still functioning just as it did when we purchased it. We liked the fact that we could purchase the matching infant seat to use w/ the stroller and that is probably my favorite thing. It was very convenient in the early days to be able to take our son's carseat out of the car and put it right onto the stroller. Another thing that drew us to this stroller in particular (over other Graco's and Evenflos, etc) was the way that it folded. May of them fold by collapsing away from you, which we didn't anticipate being very useful or easy to manage, whereas this stroller folds up toward you, which is easier for me. We've also taken this stroller everywhere, and it's held up quite well. My biggest complaint would probably be that Graco strollers are kind of looked down upon by stroller gurus, and that the basket underneath is nearly inaccessible when the seat is in full recline. Other than that, it is your basic, run of the mill stroller. It will serve it's purpose and do so affordably. It is also a very accessible product to try out and to buy, as it is available nearly anywhere baby products are sold.
