We recently set up the Pompei drop-side crib, in snowdrift (white). Our baby has not arrived, so I have no information about the actual use of this crib, but I am already disappointed with the quality. The crib arrived with a sizable chip in one of the feet, but it doesn't show when assembled, so I decided not to take issue with that until I noticed other things that bothered me.There are several obvious flubs in the paint (probably will not be noticed once a baby starts chewing on the crib, but still disappointing). Also, a pre-assembled portion of the drawer was split when the manufacturer drove a screw into it, but it was still sent to us. The drawer is almost impossible to use. It makes an awful noise and does not glide smoothly on one of the tracks. We returned to the store where we bought it and the floor model glides in about the same way. We assumed that in the store, the crib was put together hastily and we would not have the same problem. The salespeople offered to send someone to our house to try to fix the drawer - we have not done this yet.My last gripe about this crib is that it does not feel very stable. I have heard that this is fairly common with a drop-side crib, because it is not secured on all sides. None the less, I am unimpressed. One final note, if you are planning to use a crib bumper (yes, I am aware this is controversial) the large wood accents at the head and foot of the crib do not allow the bumper to be tied. To be fair, I have not contacted the company. But my first impression of this crib is poor, considering the price (about $600).
