A family vacation induced us to go looking for a lightweight umbella stroller for travelling with our (then) 9-month-old. We had some reservations about paying close to $100 for the Maclaren Volo which didn't include any shade cover (must be purchased separately), however, this stroller has proved to be one of our most used and recommended purchases ever!The fold is easy and quick and at only 8 lbs, it's a dream to carry with the shoulder strap when necessary. This stroller pushes beautifully with one hand and turns on a dime, while the taller handles make my 6'3" husband happy to take a turn. The Volo does not recline, so may only be used with children 6 mos and older who sit up well. The basket is small but easily accessible. Please note that it also will tip if you attempt to hang anything off the handles that isn't balanced by the weight of your child.It is so easy to use, that we keep our Volo folded in the trunk of our car at all times for mall crawls, and we would never think of travelling without it! When travelling by air, we just throw our carry-on bag in it, top with our child's upsidedown carseat and bungee it all together until we get to the plane and the Volo is quickly folded and gate checked to be retrieved at flight's end.[NOTE: It appears that the new Maclaren Volos now come with hoods and are slightly heavier at 9.2 lbs.]
