Reader says Simmons orders seeing delivery delays

A reader emailed in this comment today about Simmons; as you remember, Simmons was bought out by Delta. Delta has moved all the production of Simmons to China. Simmons used to manufacture and ship cribs from their plants in Wisconsin and Canada:

"Hi, I just recently purchased your Baby Bargains book. After reading the review for Simmons cribs I felt I should email you about an experience I had recently at a local Babies R Us. My sister and I went to register that day and I was interested in the Cambridge Collection from Simmons. I asked the salesman about this brand and this is what he told me. He said that since Delta has moved their production overseas it is taking forever for deliveries. Some even taking months to arrive after babies have been born. Now this was just my one experience at one Babies R Us in Illinois but I would be interested to know if other moms to be have been getting that response as well. It is unfortunate because it was one of the few styles with a drop down side that I liked that didn't look like it would fall apart in a few years that was a good price as well. Just wondering if you know more about this.

Thank you,

Michel M.
