Britax car seat covers now hand-wash?!
A reader emails in this observation about Britax
car seat covers now requiring hand-washing. Did we missing something here? We
thought Britax covers were machine-washable. Did this change? If you have any

love your Baby Bargains book. I wanted to pass on one comment that I didn't see
in your book (5th edition) or online about the Britax Roundabout or Marathon. We
went to the store prepared to buy a Britax seat based on both your
recommendation and the Consumer Reports rating - until we saw in the product
specs that the Britax seat covers are removable but *hand-washable* only! My
daughter spits up in her carseat pretty often, and there is no way that we have
the time to hand-wash the cover every time. We need something that we can put in
the washing machine, so buying the Britax was out of the question.
We ended up getting the Evenflo Triumph, which we are pretty
happy with, except that you actually have to get a screwdriver to unscrew screws
in the back in order to get the seat cover off to wash it. That's a major pain,
although I guess not as bad as if we had to hand-wash the cover!
