Target registry continues to frustrate

A reader from St. Louis chimes in about Target's stumbles with her registry:

"Hello! I have thoroughly read your Baby Bargains book and have found the advice invaluable.

I know many people have problems with baby registries, and I thought I'd throw my story in too. I decided to register at Target since that is where most of my family shops and figured it would be an easy thing to do. Boy was I wrong. The first time I registered, they "lost" my list and then found it only to connect it to the wrong name! I ended up spending over an hour on hold with their help desk while they corrected the problem. Much to my dismay, I realized that I needed to add a few things to the list about a week later, so I went back in and repeated the process. Once again, I've had to calll the help desk because my new items are not showing up on the list. And again, my list is "lost" and this time they said it could be up to 48 hours before it can be fixed! And each person I talked to seemed to blame me for the initial problem. In the meantime, I've had to email all my relatives explaining the problem and asking them to hold off checking the registry for a few days. As this is Christmastime, I've been hoping to get some baby things off my registry as gifts, but I have a feeling many of my family members will just buy what they want now that this is taking so long. And with the worst return policy imaginable (must have receipt and can only return items in the first 90 days) I'm definately thinking twice about supporting Target in the future!

Thanks for creating such a great product for first-time moms like me. I appreciate all your advice!

Sincerely,

Joy F.
